Brchest This section is a stub. You can help the Batman wiki by expanding it.

Amusement Mile is a waterfront amusement park located on its north island. It has often been shown as run-down and shady. The Mile is often used by criminals as hideouts and lairs, the most notable of which being the Joker.

Behind the Scenes[]

Nameless amusement parks have often appeared in Joker stories, usually serving as a hideout for him and/or Harley Quinn.  This fits in a long history of Joker using fairgrounds and carnivals in Gotham as a base with notable examples being found in Killing Joke and The Dark Knight #3: Hunt the Dark Knight (which could in later continuity both be identified as Amusement Mile).

Amusement Mile is the location of the climax for the film Birds of Prey. Here it is where Black Mask and the Birds of Prey arrange to make a trade-off with the Bertinelli Diamond but it breaks out into an all-out fight.

One notable location of the park is an abandoned funhouse called The Booby Trap.

Batman: Arkham Series[]

The Amusement Mile appears in Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Origins. In the games, it is the harborside district of Old Gotham and later converted into part of Arkham City by Hugo Strange and Mayor Quincy Sharp. However, the entire district is submerged weeks before the prison opens, due to land subsistence from construction. Within Arkham City, it serves as part of the Joker's turf, though it also provides the hideouts for Bane, Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy.

Locations included:

  • The GCPD Building: Originally the Gotham City Train Station; Mr. Freeze's lair during Arkham City.
  • Final Offer: The Penguin's lair during Arkham Origins.
  • Abandoned Hotel: Poison Ivy's lair during Arkham City.

LEGO Video Games[]

  • The Amusement Mile appears in LEGO Batman: The Videogame, serving as the location of the levels "Little Fun at the Big Top" and "A Surprise for the Commissioner". The Joker and Harley Quinn invited James Gordon over to the park to capture him, and Batman and Robin later came to save Gordon from the two criminals at the park while defeating Harley Quinn first, luckily the Joker escapes to his helicopter after the duo freed Gordon.
  • The Amusement Mile later appears in the sequel LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes as a part of the open-world Gotham City. Countless attractions, games and rides can be found throughout the park, with some providing Gold Brick after completion. During the second level ("Harboring a Criminal "), Batman and Robin chase the Joker through the Amusement Mile and later battle him at the front. After "Asylum Assignment", Harley Quinn and Scarecrow can be found and battled in the Amusement Mile.
  • The Amusement Mile appears in LEGO DC Super-Villains as part of the open world. Lying to the west of Gotham City, Joker and Harley Quinn's lair can be found within its funhouse. Gold Bricks can be found by either completing various tasks and minigames. Killer Croc can also be found and fought at the Amusement Mile's entrance.
