Bat-Hombre AKA Luis Peralda is a South American criminal who worked for the drug-cartel leader El Papayago. Luis took up the moniker the Bat-Hombre so that he could further his criminal operations while the authorities merely thought he was a vigilante superhero.
History[]
Luis Peralda was a citizen of the South American nation of Mantegua. Luis became aligned with the drug-lord El Papayago. Inspired by the vigilante Batman, Luis adopted his own bat-moniker. Luis branded himself as "Bat-Hombre" and would pretend to be a Batman-inspired vigilante while in-reality he was aiding Papayago and deturring the authorities.
Following an assassination attempt of Mantegua's president, the president requested that Batman and Robin journey to the country in-order to train Bat-Hombre to be better at fighting El Papayago's cartel. The Dynamic Duo equiped Luis with his own utility belt equiped with a bat radio, found a bat-cave for him, and trained him in the use of non-lethal whips all unknowing of his secret agenda. Later when Luis met with his employer, Papayago's pet parrot Toto scratched at his shoulder which later informed Batman of Bat-Hombre's treachery.
Batman and Robin defeated Bat-Hombre but rather than reveal the information to the president, Batman disguised himself as Bat-Hombre so that the president thought he still had a good vigilante in Mantegua. However, Bat-Hombre was left with his utility belt which he used to try and escape and kill the president, only to be foiled by Batman. Bat-Hombre then fell off of a cliff, presumably to his demise.
