The Batcycle was a vehicle used by Batman whilst on patrol in Gotham. It was often used to travel to at faster speeds and to areas where the Batmobile could not access. Whilst conducting survience or avoiding attention, Batman instead used another motorcycle. Batman made use of the Batcycle after Gotham was flooded by the Riddler. He also drove the vehicle whilst bidding farewell to Selina Kyle, driving it through the Gotham Cemetery alongside her motorcycle.
Behind the Scenes[]
The Batcycle was designed by Ash Thorpe alongside the Batmobile and the Drifter Motorcycle. The design made use of a Radical Ducati as its base, though also was heavily inspired by Ducati Monster. The Batcyle's plating, breaks and wheels were custom designs created by Thorpe. Several components were also sourced from an unspecified Ducati model, whilst its engines were taken from an unspecified BMW model.[1]
Despite its design for high speed pursuits, the Batcycle proved not to be maneuverable during filming. Whilst filming the scene of Batman and Catwoman riding through the cemetery, one of the stunt performers fell from the bike.[2]
