Batman: The Making of a Hero is a promotional documentary produced by Mindseye Films for the 1989 Batman film. The documentary is hosted by Robert Wuhl on the Gotham Globe set. It features a large amount of b-roll footage shot during the production. This includes the Murray Close publicity portrait session of Michael Keaton with the Batmobile prior to principal photography, closeup shot of the Batcave vault door and Carl Newman demonstrating how the Batsuit is put on.
Making of a Hero has been excluded from every home video release to date. It was announced to be included with the 2014 Diamond Luxe blu-ray and then excluded from the final release for reasons unknown.
