Plot Summary[]

"The Sheriff of Trouble"[]

While visiting the Gotham City Police Department teletype room, Batman, Robin, Commissioner Gordon and Chief O'Hara found an unconscious guard and the crime-fighting teletype gone, along with an arrow left behind by The Archer who stole the teletype and knocked out the guard with his knockout gas arrow, and he is using the teletype to spell the end of law and order in Gotham City.

Analysing the arrow in the Batcave, Batman and Robin learned of Archer's plan, and head off to police headquarters while Archer's men terrorise Gotham by assaulting grocers and bank tellers with nightsticks and lie detectors, and handcuff police officers. Meanwhile, at Gordon's office, Batman tells Gordon not to start a war with Archer and his gang because it can endanger the citizens of Gotham. While leaving, Batman tells Robin to get him two phone numbers for the Gotham Gazette and the Gotham Corps of Engineers from the remote Bat-Directory as part of his plan to stop Archer.

At Archer's hideout, the villain and his men were celebrating when Maid Marilyn brings Archer a Gotham Gazette issue with an article about Batman challenging Archer to a jousting duel at dawn in Gotham Park, to which Archer accepts.

In Gotham Park at dawn, Batman and Archer began their joust, and Archer gets the upper hand on Batman by spraying him with knockout gas, but Batman held his breath and defeated Archer by knocking him off his horse with his joust, and defeated his gang while Maid Marilyn was arrested by O'Hara.
