Plot Summary[]

"A Stand-Up Guy"[]

Egghead pulls a robbery at the Gotham City Natural History Museum, but he gets thwarted by the Joker, wearing a purple cowl and cape like Batman, and gold utility belt, and he calls himself "Jokerman", with the help of his four "wards". As he and his wards head off in the Jokermanmobile, Batman and Robin arrive in the Batmobile and find Egghead and his goons tied up for the police, and Egghead told them that Joker defeated him.

In the following days, Joker thwarted Penguin and Catwoman during their crimes, much to the surprise of Batman and Robin. At Wayne Manor, Bruce, Dick and Alfred ponder that Joker might be up to a scheme he is hatching. Just then, Alfred heard the Batphone beeping, and Bruce and Dick donned their costumes and head over to Gotham City in the Batmobile. When they saw the Bat-Signal in the sky, Batman and Robin find the Bat-symbol had been replaced with Joker's face.

Arriving at GCPHQ, Batman and Robin entered Commissioner Gordon's office, where they found Gordon and Chief O'Hara with a Jokerman Phone in place of the Batphone. Just then, the Jokerman Phone rings and Joker tells Batman that he and Robin are no longer Gotham's crimefigters and protectors anymore, and he is now its new hero, and accepts the key to the city. Realising that Joker is right, Batman and Robin decide to quit, much to the chagrin of Gordon and O'Hara.

Throughout the following days, Joker and his "ward", Gripper, patrol Gotham for any criminal activities. At that moment, a twin-engine helicopter stole the Gotham City Bank's vault with a magnet and the mysterious robber, calling himself, "The Pillager", left a note for the guard. When Jokerman arrived at the scene, he sees the helicopter flying off with the vault. In the next few days, Joker arrives late at the crime scenes created by the Pillager.

Meanwhile, Bruce and Dick are enjoying a peaceful time at Wayne Manor. While relaxing, Bruce explains his plan to Dick and Alfred while Joker is busy protecting Gotham from crime. Later that night, at a jewellery store, the Pillager and Larceny Lad collect their loot from a gang of Joker's thugs who were robbing the store. Arriving late at the scene with Gripper, Jokerman confronts his goons and angrily reprimands them for giving his loot to the Pillager, and they tell him that they're working for the Pillager now.

At Gordon's office, Joker confronts Gordon and O'Hara for failing to capture the Pillager and Larceny Lad, and then, he assumes that Gordon and O'Hara are the Pillager and Larceny Lad and aims his gun modified from the city's key. Before Joker could shoot them, the Pillager and Larceny Lad crash through the skylight and unmask themselves as Batman and Robin. They explain their plan to the Joker: After disguising themselves as The Pillager and Larceny Lad, they returned "his" stolen loot to their owners. When Joker tried to attack them, Batman and Robin defeated him with a knockout punch, landing him back behind bars, much to the delight of Gordon and O'Hara.
