Synopsis[]
"Batman's Robot-Guardian!"[]
Batman and Robin are given a robot-guardian from their old friend Tal-Dar of the Interplanetary Space Police, which prevents them from risking their lives to catch crooks.
"The Crimes of the Ancient Mariner!"[]
Batman and Robin go after a crook who appears to be an old sailor out for revenge on the firm that pensioned him off because of his age. He is referred to along the waterfront as "The Ancient Mariner" because he has a trained albatross named DAVEY that can be the occasional attack animal.
Batman becomes suspicious when he notices that no fingerprints are left at crime scenes even though The Mariner worked barehanded. The criminal turns out to be Travis, the landlord at the Mariner's boarding house; who wore a rubber mask and gnarled fake hands to simulate old age. The Mariner is found tied up in a closet.
Batman gets him a job as a ferryboat captain, which pleases the Mariner.
"Ruler of the Bewitched Valley!"[]
In a remote Central American valley, Batman and Robin trace a vanished detective and encounter the wrath of Tezcatlipoca, who appears to be an incarnation of the Mayan god of destruction.
