Synopsis[]
"The Blackbird of Banditry!"[]
"Every criminal has a weak spot. And vanity is The Penguin's!"
With all the other villains getting the headlines, The Penguin embarks on a fresh round of bird crimes; based on famous birds of fictional literature.
Captain Flint's restaurant, a society hangout; is a robbery target. A millionaire who keeps a working farm atop his skyscraper is another---and Batman and Robin are captured there.
An ugly deathtrap is set for Robin---based on "Who Killed Cock Robin?"--"I,said the Sparrow.With my bow and arrow". A sparrow eats its food slowly---and slowly severing the thin cord that is holding back a crossbow from firing at Robin's heart. Batman,caged nearby, makes an arrow-stopper out of a discarded umbrella.
Penguin's next crime is hardly anonymous---he floats over the city in a Penguin-shaped dirigible.
Batman disables the gas bag and takes Penguin to jail; saying to Cobblepot's threats of jailbreak
"Quote the Raven---NEVERMORE!"
