Synopsis[]
"Outlaw Town, U.S.A."[]
"Outlaw Town,USA" would seem to be an underworld dream come true. Thanks to an old state law that provides for self-government in old Western mining towns, one of them has become "the perfect hideout" for wanted criminals.
When the three Jenko Brothers murder two policemen in Gotham City, they seek shelter there and are nervously accepted, worried that The Batman will come to hunt them down. With typical criminal bluster, The Jenko's convince the criminal populace that Batman won't come out alive from a town where he is so heavily outnumbered.
At Police Commissioner Gordon's request, Batman and Robin DO arrive---and overcome all obstacles to bring in their men. Matt Jenko, hiding behind his guns, shoots a "hang in effigy" dummy of Batman instead of the real thing; and reveals his cowardice. Nobody tries to stop the heroes from leaving with their prisoners, because criminals are "the most un-noble people in the world".
Back in Gotham City,Commissioner Gordon apologizes for endangering them. The National Guard has been mobilized to clean sweep the town, a day too late. Batman smiles and says that saves he and Robin the trouble of going back and finishing the job. To be added
