The Bulletproof Bat-Shield, more commonly referred to as the Bat-Shield, was a portable form of protection stored in Batman's utility belt. Often deployed when dealing with gun-laden situations, it provided the Caped Crusader and Robin protection from gunfire. The shield was also used when investigating suspicious environments and objects, in case they were rigged with explosives or other hazards.
