Carmine Infantino wan an American artist. Infantino is one of the most well known Batman artists, having designed the New-Look costume in 1964. Infantino is also known for designing Barry Allen's all-red costume, when Julius Schwartz reinvented the Flash.
The Infantino style Batman was considered the definitive version that appeared all the merchandising all the way up to early 70's, when the Neal Adams' style became en vogue. Infantino appeared in the Batman & Bill documentary to defend Bill Finger as the primary contributor in the creation of Batman.
