Carlo "Little Boots" Calzone is an Italian criminal who themed himself around Roman Emperors and took his moniker from infamous emperor Caligula (Gaius Caesar Augustus Germanicus). Charlie was a recurring enemy of the Batman inspired Italian vigilante, the Legionary. Charlie used elaborate schemes until Legionary retired from crime-fighting, leaving Calzone without a heroic counterpart to engage in his persona with.
The Black Glove[]
Charlie Calzone was recruited by the evil Doctor Simon Hurt to join the Club of Villains and his secret-society, the Black Glove. As part of the club, Charlie attempted to smuggle weaponry for the club into Gotham City, only to be stopped by Batman. Batman subsequently interrogated Charlie into confessing secrets of the Club of Villains.
