David Samuel Goyer is an American writer and director. In collaboration with Christopher Nolan, he co-wrote Batman Begins and helped establish basic premises for The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. His influence was significantly lessoned with the sequels, where Jonathan Nolan took over as primary screenwriter. Goyer wrote the script for the In Darkness Dwells segment of Batman: Gotham Knight, featuring Killer Croc.

Other works of Goyer as a writer include The Crow: City of Angels, Dark City, Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., Blade, Blade II, Blade: Trinity (he also directed) and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. In the late 90's Goyer dabbled in writing Starman and JSA for DC Comics.

Goyer aided Nolan once again when he wrote the script for the 2013 reboot Man of Steel. He was given writing credit on the sequel Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, alongside Chris Terrio who wrote the shooting script..
