Dennis J. "Denny" O'Neil is an American writer. O'Neil held the position of Group Editor for the "Batman family" titles at DC for many years.

O'Neil is best known for his collaborations with artist Neal Adams in the early 70's. The tone of these stories were much closer to what modern fans expect out of Batman stories. Ra's al Ghul and the League of Assassins were created during this time.
