Derek Meddings was an English visual effects technician and model maker. Meddings oversaw the construction and photography of miniatures of Gotham City in Batman, as well as matte paintings. Meddings' company made a Batmobile miniature and Batwings for the parade sequence, which featured extensive work from the model unit.
Meddings is best known for his work on the 007 films and Thunderbirds.
