Ellen Yindel was Commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department of Earth-31 after the retirement of James Gordon.

Yindel had very strong anti-Batman feelings and issued a warrant for his arrest as her first action following appointment.

Ellen Yindel appears in both Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 and Part 2 voiced by Maria Canals-Barrera.
The character name Ellen Yin from the animated series The Batman was inspired by Yindel.
