Catwoman was a metahuman criminal operating in Gotham City. She was also an adversary and lover of Batman and the mother of his daughter, Helena Wayne.
Biography[]
Selina Kyle appeared through flashbacks, in the pilot episode of the 2002 television series, Birds of Prey. The first shows Catwoman in her thief outfit, in an alley, where Batman also shows up to stop her. They both fight briefly so that Batman immobilizes Catwoman and they both stare into each other's eyes, and fall in love. In the next flashback it shows Selina's death at the hands of a stranger, with her daughter, Helena, mourning her.
The show featured Batman and Catwoman's daughter, the Huntress, also known as Helena Kyle. In contrast to the comic book version, she was a metahuman. It was also mentioned that her sudden death (along with the paralyzing of Barbara Gordon at the hands of the Joker) sent Batman into self-imposed isolation.
