David was a college student at Gotham University, and the leader of the Terrible Trio known as Fox.

Unable to fit in, David finally befriended Justin and Amber. The three stole the formula to Dr. Langstrom's Man-Bat Serum, altered it, and then used it on themselves.
When the dean tried to do mandatory DNA testing, David came up to the idea used the serum on the entire student body.
After a confrontation with Batman, David was dumped on a large container of the altered serum, turning him into a sphinx like creature. Eventually Batman and Batgirl stopped him, and David was sent to prison.
