A small Gift Shop was located in Gotham Plaza, near the cathedral.
History[]
Lighting of the Tree Ceremony[]
During the Red Triangle Gang's attack on the ceremony, a Firebreather from the circus gang targeted this store. The Frebreather shattered windows and set set assorted Christmas paraphernalia on fire. When the Batmobile arrived, Batman hit brakes in front of this shop, sending two clowns through the store window from the hood of his car. Immediately following this, he spun the vehicle around with a jack device and set the Firebrether ablaze with the car's afterburner. It's likely the man used snowbanks surrounding the store to stop, drop and roll.
After Catwoman destroyed the ground floor of Shreck's, Batman spotted her climbing up a support beam on the gift shop building. By this time, the store was now pristine and fully repaired.
Behind the Scenes[]

Pewter lapel pin props were created for the git shop. A dozen were sold on Julien's Auctions for $360 in 2006.
Original Batman-themed Gift Shop concept[]
The was originally set to be a Batman themed gift shop, the main reason the building was being singled out by the marauding gang. A fully decorated interior with real-world merchandise from the first movie, such as Kenner's Dark Knight Collection, was completed. The exterior entrance was adorned with a large Bat-insignia that matched the chest emblem on Michael Keaton's sequel Batsuit. Jacques Rey designed fictional Batman Sled props that were placed prominently in the window. The Tattooed Strongman was originally going to take one of these sleds from a little girl and beat the salvation army santa with it. The Strongman was also going to chase the child with the Batman Sled while Alred attempted to help her flee. The action culminated in the Batmobile arriving to launch a Batdisc at the thug, while Alred knowingly helped her duck to the ground. This also explained why Batman singled out the Strongman for execution by way of Thin Clown's bomb later in movie, remembering his attempt to murder Alfred and the child with merchandise adorned with his symbol. Much of this action was dropped in Wesley Strick's shooting scripts, the girl's purchase of a regular sled is reduced being a nearly unnoticeable background extra scenario. The shop was changed with ordinary Christmas themed gifts. The only evidence of Batman merchandise in the city is Bat O' Ride that Penguin uses in his Winnebago trailer in the final film. Daniel Waters' original script featured extensive dialogue of Batman complaining about his image being exploited for cheap promotional gimmicks. This idea was later used in the I Am the Night episode of Batman: The Animated Series, which featured an extremely similar gift shop.
