Harley Quinn, born Harleen Frances Quinzel, was a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum who was turned into a insane criminal and girlfriend of The Joker.
History
Origin
Harleen Quizel was once a respected psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum. She was assigned to The Joker, overtime Harleen began falling in love with him, believing that she was actually curing him. He convinced her to smuggle him in a machine gun, which he used during an escape attempt when his gang broke him out. His men captured Harleen and strapped her to an electro-shock table, where the Joker administered electro-shock therapy, that combined with the Joker's twisted influence completely warped her mind.
Harleen took the name "Harley Quinn" and became the Joker's girlfriend and accomplice. In order to prove her love for him, the Joker made Harley jump into a vat of chemicals at the Ace chemicle plant, when she didn't resurface he jumped in after her and pulled her up, where her skin was revealed to have been bleached white by the chemicals, Harley then began making out with the Joker in the chemical vat.
At some point, Harley helped the Joker kidnap Batman's side-kick Robin and murder him.
