Dr. Hugo Strange was a chemist and psychiatrist of Arkham Asylum. He was the head of the Smylex Ward at Gotham General Hospital under the alias Dr. Hugh Auslander.
History[]
Hugo Strange worked for the Joker at Axis Chemicals. He assured the Joker that he had shipped a million chemical canisters with traces of Smylex, with the Joker telling him to "ship them all".
He was the teacher of Jonathan Crane, a young psychiatrist at Arkham.
Strange used Robert Lowery as a test subject for his experiments on fear, which triggered his phobia of Batman.
He was killed by Blockbuster under the order of Crane.
