In the Beyondverse comics, an enemy of Terry McGinnis' Batman is the second-incarnation of Hush. First appearing in the Hush Beyond storyline, this Hush uses the modus operandis of classic Batman Villains to hunt down and murder active C/D-tier villains in Neo-Gotham.

In reality, Hush was a clone of Dick Grayson created by CADMUS and Amanda Waller to try and keep the Batman legacy alive. After learning that Bruce had made Terry McGinnis his new Batman, the clone went insane and became a super-villain to try and seek vengeance while murdering villains out of extremist vigilantism.

History[]

Origins[]

The clone of Dick Grayson (the first Robin/Nightwing) was created by Amanda Waller and CADMUS as part of their mission to keep the Batman legacy alive. The clone was created with all the memories of his predecessor and was groomed to become the new Batman.

Eventually, the clone escaped from CADMUS but came to learn that Bruce Wayne had appointed Terry McGinnis as the new incarnation of the Batman. This instilled the clone with a warped and deep-found hatred for Bruce Wayne, driving him to become a super-villain.

Convinced that the only people Bruce ever truly cared about were his villains, clone decided to begin murdering what villains survived using their M.O.s to emotionally torture Bruce. Along the way, he picked up the moniker and appearance of Bruce's old friend-turned-enemy Dr. Thomas "Tommy" Elliot AKA Hush whose hatred for Bruce lead him to manipulating the Batman rogues-gallery to emotionally torture him. Elliot himself had faked his death after a final battle with Batman before starting a family and eventually dying long before the new Hush was born.

Hush Beyond[]

Upon assuming the Hush identity, then new Hush began murdering super-villains and former-super-villains of Neo-Gotham. When killing the reformed criminal Philip Cobb AKA Signalman, he stabs him twice in the heart with two different knives as a means of replicating the MO of Two-Face. Following this, Hush tracked down the new psychiatric-hospital which Dr. Jervis Tetch AKA The Mad Hatter was being kept in, only for Batman to get there first, forcing Hush to flee.

Knowledge of the new Hush began to spread with Bruce coming to question if he was Tommy Elliot. Hush's next victim was an enemy of Terry's, Jim Tate AKA Armory. Hush tied up Tate and his children before murdering them all with razor-bladed umbrellas, as a means of using the motif of the Penguin. Following this, Hush set a trap for the new Batman by sneaking into the senior home where Calendar Man was living as he knew Batman would believe him to be the next target of Hush's rampage. A fight took place, before Hush shoved an explosive down Calendar Man's throat and escaped through the window as the Calendar Man died.

Hush's next target became a thief who had taken up the moniker of Catwoman who he had previously hired to plant a tracker on Terry. He was foiled when Bruce sent a robotic, "Bat-Wraith" to save her from the madman's clutches. Following this, Hush tracked down Terry and beat him within an inch of his life before stealing control of the Bat-Wraiths and using them to murder Terry's rogue "Mad Stan".

Hush messaged the BatComputer and gloated that he was going to use his new robot legion to destroy NeoGotham. This triggered Batman and the new Catwoman to team up with Dick Grayson who had up-until this point abandoned the Bat-Family. Together they defeated Hush with Hush seemingly dying in an explosion soon-after.
