Killer Croc, born Waylon Jones, is a Metahuman who suffers from a skin condition that causes him to develop reptilian features.
Powers and Abilities
- Originally, Croc's role was written for the character of King Shark. When they changed it to Killer Croc they made very minimal adjustments to the character in the script. As a result there are several inconsistencies in adaptation of Killer Croc which make sense for King Shark. For example: Killer Croc famously has intense dysphoria but in the film he expresses that he believes himself to be beautiful, and throughout the film Croc is distinctly characterized as inhuman whereas the character simply suffers from a skin-condition.
- Killer Croc's portrayal in the film has been subject to controversy due to racist elements incorporated into the writing and direction of the film from David Ayer. Namely him fitting into harmful stereotypes, being characterized as a simplistic animal, and his outfit's glamorized "urban" elements. Similarly, Ayer faced the same criticism and controversy for his film "Bright" for virtually identical reasons with many of the characters even greatly resembling Killer Croc.
