Joe Starr AKA, "Lucky Starr" is a golden age foe of Batman and Robin who became a daredevil criminal after reading a newspaper foretelling that he wouldn't die until being executed a year in the future after being declared public enemy number one.
History[]
Joe Starr was an unlucky errand boy for Trigger Smith's mob that was frequently bullied by Trigger himself, despite this Starr desperately wanted to become a feared criminal like the rest of the gang. One day, Starr visited a Swami named ElHamid to get his fortune read, Elhamid told Starr that he was born under a Lucky Star, Joe Starr fully believed this prophecy and took up "Lucky Starr" as a nickname.
Despite this, Trigger and the mob continued to not take him seriously, but the mafia errandboy stays hopeful and on one dark and stormy night, The newspaper was dated one year in the future and stated Lucky Starr would die on december 13th after taking over Trigger Smith's mob and becoming public enemy number one. Despite learning, he would die in a year, Starr was overjoyed as it meant he would become a bigshot villain.
