Officer Martinez is a beat cop in the Gotham City Police Department. Though critical of the Batman and his operations, he would help the vigilante during his encounters with the Riddler.
Biography[]
Not much is known about Martinez's career or life in the GCPD. However, he mentioned had an uncle who was a carpet installer. He seemed to have no association to the Falcone Crime Syndicate and had a respect for Lt. Jim Gordon. Along with other police officers, he had a distain towards Batman.
The Batman[]
Martinez was one of the officers called to the scene of the murder of Mayor Mitchell. He stood guard of the area whilst police investigated. When Batman arrived on the scene, Martinez denied the vigilante entrance and commented it was "police business". However, he let the vigilante past when Gordon revealed he was there because of his request. He continued to remain outside during the investigation.
Martinez later appeared the following night in the GCPD morgue after Commissioner Savage was murdered by Mitchell's killer, who came forward as "the Riddler". As Batman and Gordon uncovered clues left by the killer, he arrived to let them know that other officers were coming.
