Mikhail was a Cossack henchman of Doctor Death. He served as the criminal's main enforcer during his second battle with Batman.
History[]
A mere week after his encounter with Batman, Doctor Death hired Mikhail to steal valuable diamonds from the estate of the recently killed John Jones. After breaking into the estate, he discovered the safe had been left open and attempted to steal the diamonds, not knowing Batman was watching him. When Jones' widow entered the room, he almost shot her dead, but was subdued by Batman and thrown out of the window. When he regained conciousness, he found Jones' diamonds lying beside him and, assuming he'd been able to steal them, fled to the Ivan Heard Pawnshow to drop them off with death.
Followed to his hotel room, Mikhail was again subdued by Batman when the vigilante threw a knock-out gas capsule into his room. However, he regained consciousness whilst the Dark Knight was searching for the diamonds and attacked him. Batman, however, was able to jump outside through the window and swing on the hanging Silken Cord outside. As he leaned out to see where the vigilante had gone, Mikhail was kicked against the window frame, breaking his neck and killing him.
