Miss Kitty was the black cat who belonged to Selina Kyle. She would sometimes accompany her owner after she'd reimagined herself as "Catwoman". After Selina's disappearance, Miss Kitty would enter Bruce Wayne's care, subsequently taking residence at Wayne Manor.
Biography[]
Batman Returns[]
Miss Kitty resided with her owner in an apartment. She was fond of her mistress. Comments made by Selina indicate that Miss Kitty was promiscuous with other cats. After Selina's first "death" at the hands of her boss Max Shreck, Miss Kitty was one of the many cats that flocked around her during her revival. She later watched as Selina trashed the apartment and reinvented herself as Catwoman.
Miss Kitty appeared alongside Catwoman in the Penguin's office. When Selina threatened to eat one of his birds, the criminal threatened Miss Kitty with a knife-tipped umbrella. When Catwoman released the bird, Miss Kitty fled the scene.
Sometime after the battle at the Arctic World, Selina led Bruce down an alleyway. Whilst looking for her, he found Miss Kitty in his path. Recognizing her as Selina's cat, Bruce picked her up and took her to his car, noting that she'd likely been left as a gift.[1]
Batman '89[]
According to one account, Miss Kitty stayed with Bruce and Alfred at Wayne Manor whilst Selina was missing. She'd grown accustomed to visiting the Batcave and sleeping in Bruce's residence. When Catwoman returned to Gotham, Bruce and Alfred wondered whether she'd be returning to her owner's side.[2][3]
Behind the Scenes[]
Miss Kitty was similar various cats owned by Catwoman in the comics. She also bares similarities to other cats owned by media-exclusive versions of the character, such as Hecate from the Batman 1966 film, Isis from Batman: The Animated Series and Midnight from Catwoman.
Miss Kitty, despite being taken in by Bruce, doesn't appear in the subsequent films directed by Joel Schumacher, Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. It is possible that she was present at Wayne Manor off-screen or he'd only held onto her for a short time.
Miss Kitty returned in Batman '89, often shown roaming around Wayne Manor. Her reappearance in the comic had been indicated by artwork shared by Joe Quinones on Twitter.
