Mr. Freeze has appeared in various forms of media since the 1960s. These have ranged from live-action films, television series, animated projects, and video games. The following is a list of Freeze's appearances in other media and the actors who have portrayed him.
Film[]
Batman & Robin[]
Mr. Freeze is one of the main antagonists in the 1997 live-action film Batman & Robin. He was portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was a scientist trying to cure his wife Nora from a terminal illness called MacGregor's Syndrome when an accident with some cryo-fluid mutated his body, condemning him to live in sub-zero temperatures and be reliant on a special suit. His main aim was to steal enough diamonds to create a freezing engine to freeze all of Gotham to gain the funds he need to finish his research for Nora's cure, but after teaming up with Poison Ivy who unbeknownst unplugged Nora's equipment and blamed Batman for it, he froze the city out of revenge against all humanity to make way for her floral kind. However after being explained the truth from Batman and that Nora had been restored and would be moved to the lab at Arkham Asylum where he would be able to continue his research, Freeze shared some of his MacGregor's Syndrome research with the Dark Knight by giving him some vials containing an antidote for Stage One of the disease to save another victim Alfred. He then confronted Ivy in Arkham Asylum, vowing to make her life a living Hell for what she did to Nora and her treachery.
The Lego Batman Movie[]
Mr. Freeze makes a bunch of cameo appearances in The Lego Batman Movie alongside other Batman villains voiced by David Burrows. He rides a giant mech suit armed with an ice gun in the film and his appearance is modeled after the Arnold Schwarzenegger version of the character.
