Norm Breyfogle was an American artist who is best known for pencilling Batman comics in collaboration with writer Alan Grant. Breyfogle created the original designs of recurring characters the Ventriloquist, and Mr. Zsasz.
Breyfogle also designed the iconic R-symbol on Tim Drake's costume and conceived the notion of Robin carrying a bō staff, which were not part of Neal Adams' original design. His Mk.III Batmobile became the primary consistent Batmobile from 1992 to 1995.
Bat-History[]
With the help of Alan Grant again, he drew Batman for six years (from 1987 to 1993), pencilled Detective Comics from 1987 to 1990, introduced the new Robin from 1990 to 1992, and started a new Batman comic-book series called Shadow of the Bat in 1992. He also did a few one-shots, two of which being Batman: Holy Terror and Batman: Birth of the Demon, which he hand-painted.
