Onomatopoeia is a super-villain enemy of Batman, Black Canary, and the Green Arrow. Onomatopoeia is an assassin and a serial-killer whose modus operandi involved murdering superheroes who don't have super-powers. In addition to this, when he will state onomatopoeiae (words used to describe their own sounds) which describe the movements that he makes (playing off of the usage of action words in comic-books).

Batman: Cacaphony[]
Onomatopoeia broke the Joker out of Arkham Asylum and after quarrelling with Deadshot, seemingly killed the hitman with a gun to the head (in reality Floyd was faking his death). Onomatopoeia went on to bribe Joker to start a gang-war with Maxie Zeus who had just recently begun to sell a narcotic known as Chuckles which was made from Joker Venom.
Onomatopoeia used this war to fight with Batman but when he lost the upper-hand, he stabbed Joker's heart to force the Caped Crusader to choose between saving the Clown Prince of Crime or capturing Onomatopoeia.
Widening Gyre[]
When Batman was apparently engaged to Silver St. Cloud, Onomatopoeia assumed the vigilante identity of Baphomet in Gotham City. Onomatopoeia seemingly did this in order to gain Batman's trust and infiltrate the Batcave where he subsequently murdered Silver St. Cloud with a knife to the throat.

As of the New 52, Onomatopoeia became a minor enemy of the Teen Titans.
