"Hell, I am Mother Nature."
―Poison Ivy[src]

Poison Ivy was an arch-nemesis of Batman and Robin.

Biography

History

Poison Ivy began as Dr. Pamela Isley and is shown researching in a Wayne Enterprises-funded lab in South America. It's here that her botanical aspirations and scorn for mankind are made known as she is focusing on creating a new breed of plants with ability to "fight back like animals". Dr. Isley's work is not going well with numerous failed attempts but notes, with certain disdain; her progress is being hindered significantly by her on-site colleague. Her already-strained relationship with her partner and boss, Dr. Jason Woodrue is further disrupted when Isley makes note of his constant theft of her research materials- namely animal and plant venom samples. Investigating, she discovers him, offering up Bane, a soldier enhanced and fuelled by Venom, a toxin-derived chemical of Woodrue's own creation, to various bidders. Bane lashes out, and Isley is revealed in the fracas. Woodrue asks her to join him, but when she declines, he kills her by throwing her into a shelf full of chemicals (including a canister labeled Venom, the same drug that creates Bane).

Creation

Some time later, Woodrue entered the former Dr. Isley's dormant workstation, conversing with the winning bidder of Bane on his cell-phone. Walking over and disturbing her unnatural grave, a strange event occurred, gaining the would-be dictator's attention. The ground began to shake and emit a strong pink light; he moved forward slightly when the earth seemingly erupted, expelling a reborn Pamela Isley veiled in a mix of vines, dirt and smoke as a similar pink light fell on the woman, harkening her coming. Dr. Woodrue fell to his knees at her sight. The woman he once knew was no more. The frumpy, busy-body co-worker had been replaced by an ethereal goddess of irresistible beauty. The former Isley seemingly shrugged off her apparent death as a good night's rest while her dumbstruck boss looked on. Acknowledging him at last, Pamela spoke to him in a charming manner, playing off his new infatuation with her. She explained to him the effects that the animal-plant toxins had on her reborn body. They replaced her blood with aloe, she revealed, and her skin with chlorophyll. There was one final component that had yet to be revealed and she did so with a "hands-on" demonstration. Leaning forward she took Woodrue by the cheeks and chin and pulled him towards her, speaking to him seductively of the newly-infused properties of her lips. Isley kissed him passionately and he eagerly kissed her back. When she broke away from him, Isley finished her statement. Her lips were filled with venom. She had given him a poison kiss. Within moments Woodrue died of organic poisoning as Isley tauntingly gave him a post-kiss warning of her lethality before pushing him over to die. Her revenge complete, Isley trashed her workplace, shattering vials, spilling chemicals and finally starting a fire. All the while proclaiming herself "Mother Nature" and her aspirations for floral world-dominance with her at the frontline. Catching the logo of her now-former work sponsor (Wayne Enterprises) on a nearby vial, she concocted the next step of her plan. With Bane in tow, the woman formally known as Dr. Pamela Isley headed for Gotham City.

Arrival at Gotham

Soon after, she appeared in Gotham under the guise of her former persona, Dr. Pamela Isley. Hearing over the radio that her old boss, Bruce Wayne, was at a tour of a new telescope being donated by Wayne Enterprises to Gotham Observatory, Isley headed there and informally confronted him during the press conference that followed. Despite her impromptu entrance, Wayne lent her an ear and Isley handed him a proposal that would use the power and resources of Wayne Enterprises to cease all current activity that toxified the environment. Her proposal was politely declined by Wayne when he noted the devastating effect it would have on human life ("People come first, Dr. Isley"). Taking back her proposal, the rebuffed Isley menacingly declared the coming of a plant-based apocalypse (hinting at her own nefarious plans) to all that would listen. Pamela Isley's prophecy of doom was met with jeers and laughter, even the open-minded Bruce Wayne chuckled a little. It was then that the popular Gotham radio personality, Gossip Gerty told Isley of Batman & Robin. The crime-fighters protected Gotham City- even from plants and flowers. Isley "laughed" along with them, at her own ignorance. To soften the blow a little, Bruce Wayne handed Dr. Isley an invitation to a "Save the Rainforest" Ball for Gotham's rich and famous, where the Caped Crusaders would make an appearance. She took the invitation and with that Bruce Wayne ended the conference and bid her farewell. Scheming to herself, Isley slyly waved the entrepreneur goodbye. Upon leaving Isley immediately began to concoct a new plan. A plan to rid herself of the only men who would stand in her way, Gotham's "animal-protectors"; Batman & Robin.

Poison Ivy

It's still not clear how Pamela Isley gained access to the Gotham Plaza where the lavish ball was held but none who attended can forget her entrance. The event hosted many dancers in wild and colorful costumes to fit the theme to accompany the auction that was the highlight of the ball. The prizes in question were glamorous models under flower-based names (Magnolia, Tigerlily etc.) for all manner of rich businessmen in attendance could bid for. It was at this point that Batman & Robin appeared at the proceedings and it was at this point that Isley made her move.

Just when the bidding began to heat up the loud and flash music stopped. It was replaced by a sultry, seductive number and one by one everyone's eyes were drawn to the lone pink gorilla high on top of the grand archway, shaped like a tribal statue mouth that served as the ballroom's centerpiece. Having gathered everyone's attention, the figure began to hypnotically dance to the music. As the music gained momentum, the mysterious figure began to perform an exotic striptease, removing the hands revealing slender green-dressed hands with ivy-shaped pads on the palms. It was then the figure removed the head to reveal a stunningly beautiful woman as the mystery guest. It was Pamela Isley, as she was upon the night of her murder of Dr. Woodrue. Her red hair was tied back yet still long and flowing and she wore a green, leafy eyemask, highlighting her emerald green eyes. Spying her targets, she raised a palm to her face and blew a pink, wisp-like powder over the stunned crowd which had an intoxicating effect on her surveyors, causing them to fall blissfully in love with her- including Batman & Robin. Several bare-chested, jungle-attired men in the crowd began to walk to the ground near her as though being controlled by some means. The former Isley finished her tease by dropping the costume to the ground revealing a green ivy-fashioned bathing suit with green tights. She looked over at the equally-bewitched Dynamic Duo and winked seductively at them both before dropping off the archway into the waiting arms of the jungle men. Isley stood up and then faced the stage where Batman & Robin stood and extended her arms for the men closest to her to take. In response, the others fell to the ground and she walked across their backs to the stage, never taking her eyes off her new enemies. Batman & Robin met her at the edge of the stage and helped her on to it. The green woman greeted the two with a smile, prompting the MC guiding the event to ask her name. In a firm, dominant voice, the woman declared herself as Poison Ivy to all on-lookers at the ball. The crowd was well and truly mesmerized so Ivy began to go to work. She blew another cloud of her love dust into the face of Batman first and moved in close. Seemingly out of earshot, she flirted with him, insinuating a desire for him over his younger partner. Ivy broke away from him and blew yet another cloud, this time into Robin's face. Playing off his youthful ego Ivy offered him the choice to join with her over his mentor. Leaving the two reeling Ivy took a priceless necklace- "the Heart of Isis"- from Commissioner Gordon's hands and put it around her neck, deeming herself the winner. Taking the microphone from the stunned MC, Poison Ivy spoke to the crowd, offering herself up for auction. She moved back between the Caped Crusaders and handed the microphone back. Immediately Ivy started getting bids much higher than for the other girls. But even more surprising Batman & Robin started to bid too, ending in a fierce and heated bidding match which Batman was winning.

Before he could enjoy the spoils however, Mr. Freeze and his entourage of thugs quite literally crashed the party. He smashed his tank-like Freeze-Mobile through the teeth of the archway where Ivy appeared and Freeze himself emerged from the top of it and used his gun to turn several party guests into ice sculptures- to Poison Ivy's awe and amusement. While his goons distracted Batman & Robin, Freeze approached Ivy and the diamond necklace he was there to claim. Freeze conversed with Ivy before threatening her with death for the "Heart of Isis" around her neck. Ivy responded with lovedust which Freeze inhaled sternly before correctly identifying it as pheromone dust, noting its intended effect on the male gender. Ivy was taken aback by the result of her dust- or lack thereof- before Freeze told her his immunity came with his cold-blooded condition. Losing patience Freeze asked for the diamonds once more and Ivy relented, letting him tear them from her neck. Having claimed his prize, Freeze bade her farewell and raced off to his vehicle. Ivy sported a sultry smile and slyly waved after the villain in response.

The chaos had died down by this point and Batman & Robin were finishing off the last of the goons when Mr. Freeze tauntingly announced his departure to them before he vacated the premises. With Freeze gone Ivy looked around to see the Dynamic Duo approaching Commissioner Gordon. Ivy walked over and stood beside the man in question, in sight of Batman & Robin. Batman relayed information to help save the frozen party guests to his ally and then immediately gave pursuit. Robin was ready to follow but he had caught Ivy's gaze and was rendered immobile by the sight of her once more. Poison Ivy pouted her lips and blew a kiss to the Boy Wonder, leaving him with lingering thoughts of her, as she had in mind. By this point Batman had realized Robin was behind and literally had to drag him away from her. Her own plans for the time being seemingly in tatters Poison Ivy was getting ready to leave herself. Taking a nearby snowglobe of Gotham City with her as a memento of the night and Mr. Freeze, Ivy regrouped with Bane and left the party, remarking to the giant, "We've got work to do!"

Renovations

Poison Ivy sauntered through the maze-like alleyways of Gotham City with Bane close behind looking for a place of dwelling. For while Ivy had made a lasting impression on the city with her appearance at the ball, she had still only arrived in town and was without a lair; at least one fitting of her.

As they walked Ivy remarked about her new enemies, recognizing their strength of will against the effects of her lovedust. But nevertheless she shrugged it off as inconsequential, believing they would be at its mercy with a more potent dose. It was at this point Poison Ivy stumbled upon a promising candidate for a garden lair; a boarded-up Turkish bath-house located on Blossom Street in Gotham's now non-existent theatre district. Vandals had spray-painted warnings on the planks of wood that barricaded the entrance in an attempt to ward off intruders but Ivy had Bane break his way inside regardless. The pair stumbled upon a street gang known as the Golums congregating within, plastered in skull-motif facepaint masking their identities. Emerging from the dust and doors Ivy surveyed the interior, acknowledging it needed work but was pleased with what they had found. The gang made their presence known, gaining the pair's attention. They began to bear down threateningly on the intruders while their leader leapt down from a make-shift "throne" to the front of both parties. Disregarding Bane he menacingly flirted with Ivy, complimenting her on her good looks. Vainly, Ivy agreed with him and proposed a challenge: to come and get her, if he could. She pushed the button on Bane's chest and Venom pumped into his muscles putting him at maximum power. Then she moved out of the way to watch the coming brawl. The Golum leader accepted and ordered the gang to attack. Immediately they were overwhelmed by Bane's superhuman strength and were forced to flee for their lives, leader and all. The bath-house was now under Poison Ivy's control.

Immediately they began to re-model the building to her own desires. Bane burst a nearby water-pipe to fill in a large empty space in the floor which would become an indoor pond and Ivy planted seeds of her own creation that sprouted and grew of their own accord until they were literally part of the furniture, all for her. Pleased with the progress so far Poison Ivy sat on her new, now-vacant throne and spoke with Bane about her encounter with Freeze. She marveled at the power he possessed and spoke cryptically of her next plan.

Arkham Asylum Breakout

Poison Ivy's next appearance in public effectively changed her status from a mystery to mysterious criminal. Ivy had learned that the Mr. Freeze had been captured by the Bat and was currently imprisoned within Gotham's infamous Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane. It's here that the next stage in her plan had had begun. She planned to spring Freeze from his imprisonment and have him join forces with her.

Poison Ivy arranged to visit the villain under the guise of Freeze's sister. The disguise fooled those in charge of the prison and Ivy was granted entry to his cell as an ordinary civilian. The pair of snarky officers who guarded her target received a call for her entry and announced her arrival to a sullen Mr. Freeze. While he was not expecting visitors Freeze was even more confused by the nature of the visit- as Freeze had no sister. The guards admitted the woman entry and Freeze recognized her immediately. Her appearance and clothing had changed slightly but there was no denying it. It was Poison Ivy. The woman he encountered on the night of his very capture. But the guards didn't know that. As the door closed behind her, Ivy shed the dark-green cloak she was wearing and revealed a new costume from the one at the ball that highlighted her slender figure. She now wore a green skin-tight latex cat-suit and dark green thigh-high heeled boots with a similar colored belt round her waist, emblazoned with a yellow emblem of ivy on the front. Ivy wore dark-green gloves with red and magenta on the fingertips. The green eyemask was now a warm gold, complimented by her intense red hair which now curled into two cones before falling to her shoulders. Ivy looked at Freeze, taking in his reaction and curved her full, red lips into a seductive smile.

Needless to say the guards were stunned by her while Freeze unsurprisingly remained bemused. One of the smitten guards at her side earnestly told Poison Ivy not to mind their presence and that she could speak freely to Freeze. Seemingly repulsed by the mere thought of the guard conversing with her, Ivy clearly had other ideas. Brushing one gloved hand off the other Ivy blew a potent cloud of lovedust from her palm into the guard's face, increasing his infatuation with her a hundred-fold. Turning around to the other guard she replied in a flirtatious voice that she didn't mind him at all. She blew another cloud into the other guard's face with a mirrored effect. Now that they were under her spell, Ivy looked at Freeze to show him the result. She playfully hit the men on the chest with her hands and walked away from the door, the guards following her close behind. She spoke to Freeze sardonically about the men behind her, deriding the male population as the inferior race on Earth. Using her status as the mothering force of nature, Ivy declared that while they gave them life... they can also take it away just as easily. Stopping a distance from the door Ivy turned around and playfully prodded the first guard in the chest, adding emphasis to the final thought of her monologue. While the guards were listening to her every word, they shrugged off her proclamations with chuckling ignorance. Freeze had been watching her display and was listening too. Ivy merely smiled seductively at them both. She then faced the second guard and put a hand on his face and he put his arm around her waist. With one last thought Ivy moved and kissed the guard on the lips, pulling away after a moment. The toxicity of her lips seemed to have been increased as the guards seemed to succumb to the venom much more quickly than Woodrue. As her victim went down, Ivy turned around and grabbed the other guard by the face and kissed him passionately. He reacted to her poison and struggled to get free but he was dead by the time she removed her lips from his. Letting him fall to the ground like a ragdoll, Ivy turned around and looked at Mr. Freeze and proudly posed for him in front of her latest murders.

Analyzing the poison-filled corpses that were once his guards, Freeze stood up and complimented Poison Ivy on her deadly abilities. Ivy returned the thought and walked over to him and talked about join forces in exchange for help in springing him free. Freeze acknowledged her proposition but was skeptical. He asked her what she wanted out of the bargain. Ivy's vain smile turned sinister for a moment but she told Freeze to forget about it for the time being and walked over to the cell door, as she wanted to introduce him to someone. There was a sound of chaotic commotion in the corridor outside with men yelling, crashing and what sounded like growls of a large beast. Ivy opened the door and let in her servant, Bane, and then closed and locked the door behind him. Bane was the source of the snarling as he'd smashed through the prison defenses to deliver Mr. Freeze's stolen cyro-suit from storage up to his cell. Pleased with Bane's performance, Ivy smugly put a hand on Bane's hulking shoulder and looked to Freeze and introduced him to the fellow villain. Freeze marveled at the beast-like man and graciously took back his suit.

The guards who had been pursuing were outside the windowed steel door and were now cutting through it with welding gear. The mood in the cell hadn't changed despite the new development as Freeze was just finishing getting into his suit. He was himself once again. Ivy flirtingly asked him his size which Freeze claimed a size smaller than normal. The moment was interrupted by the guards as they began to bang on the door slowly trying to break it down. Now realizing the threat at hand, Poison Ivy pushed the button on Bane's chest once more and had him try to break the stone wall surrounding them. Bane did as commanded but to no avail, which Ivy correctly recognized as reinforced steel to her visual dismay. Freeze came to the rescue, his scientific mind seeing a way out of their predicament. He led the pair to his cell's sink and turned on the cold water, opening up a panel on his arm, he wrenched free a small pipe from its socket, expelling a constant high-pressure blast of cryogenic air. Aiming at the running water, it had an instantaneous freezing effect on it and all the water connected to it. The chain-reaction ran from the tap to the pipes to walls where they ran. The effect was so extreme that wall itself shattered in an explosion from the pressure of the intense and sudden frost. Ivy and Bane were taken surprise by it and instinctively shielded their eyes. Regaining her composure as the guards began to break open the door; Ivy ran to the hole but stopped short of running through, as the hole led to a perilously high drop into the water below the island prison. Freeze came behind and helped get her act together and they both jumped into the abyss to her obvious displeasure. Bane followed behind and did the same. By the time the guards had reached their exit point, the trio had hit the water and was too far away for even bullets to reach them. Poison Ivy and Bane had sprung Mr. Freeze from Arkham Asylum and were already heading for their next destination.

Snowy Cones Factory Incident

Mr. Freeze had explained to Ivy that his cyro-suit's strength was near critical and would shut down soon. The only thing that would help him was the energy crystals that powered it which were currently located at his hideout. With little time to waste, the trio of villains headed to the abandoned Snowy Cone’s Ice Cream Factory. However, they discovered the Gotham Police Force was already on location waiting for them and to make things worse, Batman & Robin were there too.

Freeze gained access via other means and the trio had worked their way deeper into the factory. From a ventilation tunnel in the floor, Freeze, along with Poison Ivy, found the Dynamic Duo in the hidden room where his frozen wife slept. While they were at his former hideout Mr. Freeze wished to rescue her from possible harm, intentional or otherwise, but he couldn't do it in his current state. Ivy offered to do so in his stead and draw their foes away from him while he worked. With little choice Freeze agreed and went on his way. With a sly smile Ivy looked after him and then turned her attention to Batman & Robin.

Ivy lured the pair to a secluded part of the factory by blowing a cloud of her lovedust through the vent. They both recognized the scent and deduced that Poison Ivy was beyond the vent. Having discovered her true affiliations beforehand, they followed the trail left by her. Batman & Robin emerged in a processing plant where they were ambushed by Bane on the nearby walkway. Robin foolhardily attacked him but was quickly subdued with a successful reversal of a punch thrown. He was subsequently thrown aside down the nearby stairs and slammed back-first against a giant model ice-cream cone. The veteran crime-fighter, Batman combated Bane in turn and used his experience to fight the behemoth, matching his immense strength with his own hardened experience, succeeding where the other failed.

While Batman was distracted, Poison Ivy came into the field of play, preying on the stunned Robin. She appeared to him from behind the ice-cream in surprise. Whereas Bane used his physical strength to fight the pair, Ivy used her beauty and charms to seduce her foes into submitting to her instead. Smiling like only she could Poison Ivy flirted with Robin, preying on his attraction to her. Robin steeled himself and ordered her to give herself up, but before he could continue she silenced him with lovedust to the face and turned his command into a seductive suggestion, offering herself to him. It was a stronger dose this time and Robin was by all respects stunned by both the dust and herself. Pleased with the result Ivy moved her hand to his face and offered him a kiss. Not waiting for an answer Ivy leant over eagerly to the Boy Wonder and prepared to give him a poison kiss- removing one obstacle from her goal of killing the Dynamic Duo, something she'd been dearly waiting for since she learned of their existence.

But, just before their lips could meet, Bane accidently foiled her attempt. Bane had tossed Batman over a railing and onto burlap sacks below. The sudden commotion surprised the hero and villainess and stopped their kiss before it could even be administered, causing them to look in the noise's direction. The action caused Ivy's spell over Robin to be temporarily broken and he got up and went after Bane. Clearly annoyed at being rebuffed, Poison Ivy got up and leaned against the cone, looking after him sulkily. Chance had saved his life- this time. While Bane took care of Robin, Ivy turned her attention to his fallen comrade. A smile came back over her face. If she couldn't have the boy, then she would settle for the man.

With a sultry swagger, Poison Ivy made her move on the momentarily crippled Batman. She playfully kicked the bags where he laid and began to try and seduce him. Lowering herself onto the sacks right next to him, Ivy indulged in sweet-talk, hinting at a physical desire for his body and himself. Claiming that he put fire in a girl's lips, Ivy settled down right next to him and bore down on him and rubbed his chest briefly but tantalizingly on her last thought. This was clearly a new Ivy from the last one Batman had encountered. She seemed more tenacious, more aggressive with her tactics than before. It was clear to him there was much more about Poison Ivy that had evolved and grown- beyond her near-irresistible beauty and attire. Without a second thought Ivy blew a lazy cloud of lovedust into the Dark Knight's face. Batman, a more wily foe than Robin, fought it and quipped back at Poison Ivy, rhetorically asking her why all the gorgeous women he encountered were homicidal maniacs. But Ivy had ignored him and was running a finger along his chest while he spoke to her. Curling a seductive smile at him, Ivy ended their banter and accepted his "compliment" and ended their banter. Confident that Batman was now hers, Poison Ivy slowly began to move in for a kiss, a passionate smile locked onto her lips.

Ivy had misjudged Batman's strength of will. Before she could get close enough he wrenched her off him and was on his feet, towering above the villainess. He grabbed her by the wrist and demanded that she tell him where Freeze was before being sent to prison herself. Initially shocked at first, Ivy smiled at Batman and told him darkly that she was a lover, not a fighter but she was however prepared for when it was called for. Ivy had secretly given a cue for her partner to help her. While she had distracted him Bane snuck up on Batman and grabbed him from behind into a bear-hug. Batman released her in a vain attempt to break free and Poison Ivy got to her feet, laughing triumphantly. Ivy grasped Batman by torso and stood close to him, taunting him about his now-imminent death. With that she left the pair and went off once more. While Batman had proven himself to be unattainable and immune to her charms, it was painfully clear his young sidekick was not. A new passion ignited in her, Poison Ivy sought to find Robin once more, eager to finish what she had started. This time he would not escape her clutches.

Ivy found Robin on the nearby walkway, lying stunned on the steel mesh floor and reeling from Bane's assault. Rather than make her move there and then she cunningly waited out of sight for him to recover. Ivy wanted him, fresh and able as he was before. She was derived a sadistic sense of fun with her dominance over him and she wanted to corrupt him even further to prey on her emotionally-crippling seduction of him for a little while longer. As planned Robin soon got to his feet, ready to help Batman with Bane. But before he could take even a step forward he was ambushed by Poison Ivy. She held a hand to his face and told him to stop. The sudden surprise shocked into a standstill regardless, leaving him vulnerable. Wasting no time Ivy turned her hand over and blew a cloud of dust into the boy's face once more. Still under the influence of the previous dose, Ivy's pheromones flared through his nostrils causing Robin to stagger backwards, the potent mixture nearly knocking him out. Pleased with the result she smiled broadly and seductively advanced on him. Forcing Robin to back away in turn, rendered dumbstruck by her. As she pursued him, Ivy questioned Robin's status as a hero- forever in the shadow of the "big, bad, bat"- the sidekick to a hero. Now that Ivy had Robin alone her original plan came to fruition- to destroy their partnership from within and then kill them individually. To drive him further from the Bat and ever closer to her lips. Within seconds Ivy had him cornered, having backed into a nearby railing. Putting her arms on his shoulders, Ivy began to seduce Robin once more, with him now well and truly at her mercy. She slowly started to convince Robin to break away from Batman and become a hero in his own right. That he deserved the limelight as she considered him to be the star instead of the bat. She envisioned a signal of his own in the sky. Preparing to wrap things up, Ivy put her arms around Robin and moved a little closer. Ivy offered her help, to let her guide him, to show him life with her, as partners and something more. Robin had watched and listened to Ivy since she had appeared to him. Her words, her actions, it all made sense to him or so he thought. He now trusted Ivy more than his mentor. Alongside this something else had occurred in him. The borderline of good and evil was shattered by her very presence. He was convinced that he loved her and what's more she- the villainess, Poison Ivy- loved him too. Ivy stared deep into his eyes with a hunger of insatiable lust masqueraded by innocence. Ivy was well aware of his newfound desire for her, having intricately crafted it for him herself. Happy with the result of her seductive efforts Ivy prepared to finish him off. She tilted her head slightly, she moved inward with a whisper on her breath to let her kiss him. With a sinister smile Ivy held him close and moved her luscious red lips over to Robin's. Their faces against each other Ivy stopped short of their lips meeting and teased him with them, trying to tempt him to come a little closer. Robin hesitated for a moment but it was already too late for him and he slowly gave into her. Poison Ivy smiled at Robin one last time and prepared to seal his fate with a loving kiss.

Unbeknownst to Ivy, Batman had successfully fended off Bane and was just behind them both at the bottom of the stairs. With a powerful shout for Robin to stop, Ivy's attempts to kill Batman's sidekick were foiled once more. The pair whipped around with shock at the sudden call. Ivy loosened herself from Robin at the sight of him. She was in trouble now. Divided Robin was easy prey but her overconfident actions had back-fired now that the Bat had fended off Bane. Fearfully, Ivy backed away from Robin as Batman rushed up the stairs to them. He explained to Robin his new realization of Poison Ivy's involvements with some recent murders at Gotham Airport. To Ivy's surprise Robin didn't buy it, believing Batman to be jealous of Ivy 'favoring' himself over his partner. Using the distraction Robin was inadvertently creating Ivy made her way up to a ventilation shaft and an escape, watching the show with eager curiosity as Robin 'defended her honor' as it was. Foolishly, Robin tried to pick a fight with Batman which Batman quickly ended by knocking him into a vat of liquidized ice-cream. Poison Ivy let out a hearty laugh at the result of her designs on Robin and gave a trademark smile and wave to the pair and made her escape, Bane in tow as always.

But before she left the factory for good, Ivy had one last task of her own she wished to deal with. A crease she would have to iron out in order for her master plan to take full shape. Freeze's frozen wife had to be removed from the picture. Away from prying eyes Ivy entered the now-empty room she lured Batman & Robin from via the tunnel in the floor. Languidly she sauntered across the room and severed her life-support's power supply cable with a sharp stamp of her heel. As the machine began to fail Ivy approached the woman's body and gave justification for actions, claiming she was never good with competition. In an uncharacteristically cold fashion she asked Lady Fries, "Who needs a frigid wife anyway?"

Before Poison Ivy took her leave of the now-dying woman she spied the silver snowflake necklace she wore around her neck, the wedding gift from her eternally-devoted husband, Victor.

Day of Reckoning

Their tasks complete, both Ivy and Bane returned to her garden lair at the Turkish Baths. The lair was now completely unrecognizable from its past look. The drab layout was now riddled with vines and exotic plantlife contorting around the environment leaving the area resembling a rich and steamy rainforest in a riot of color.

Ivy casually marched into the lair with Bane following close behind; her slender body hidden by a hulking, red-green feathered jacket and her emerald-green eyes sheltered by dark sunglasses. She quickly found Mr. Freeze waiting for them in an empty part of her lair, quite literally the polar-opposite of her own half. He had turned part of her lair into a winter wonderland. Ivy stopped at the division between lairs and acknowledged his impromptu handiwork. Removing her jacket and thrusting it into her minion's hand she sarcastically addressed Freeze who was intently focused on his work, telling him to "make himself at home". Freeze was engrossed in his research and only took notice of Ivy's entrance when she delivered her snarky remark at him. He put down the equipment he was using and stared down the pair. He asked Poison Ivy where his wife was, as part of Ivy's task was to rescue her. Deceitfully, she told him his wife has been deactivated and was now dead, bearing false witness to Batman as the culprit behind the deed instead of herself. Not surprisingly, Freeze didn't believe her. He knew Ivy was jealous of Nora. Of her twisted desire for him. Ivy was lying. But the prospect that his wife whom he loved beyond comprehension and had been working so tirelessly to save had been taken from him... He couldn't bring himself bear that thought. Freeze looked at Ivy now with spiteful wrath. He roared at her and rightly accused her of lying.

Unshaken by his outburst, Poison Ivy simply held out silver, glittering object on a chain to her partner. Freeze recognized the object instantly as Ivy knew he would and his heart skipped a beat. It was Nora's necklace. Freeze was visibly stunned by the token Ivy held out for him. He took it from her and stared at it, taking it all in. Ivy watched as Freeze shed a single tear for his now-deceased wife. Acknowledging his grief, Ivy lowered her sunglasses at him and looked at her broken companion. She falsely offered her condolences for him and then removed them completely, revealing a hint of a smile on her face fitting of her namesake. Ivy had no love for people, least of all those who get in her way. Even Freeze himself existed only for her personal gain, and if removing his wife from the picture would bring her proclaimed "Day of Reckoning" closer to fruition, then that wouldn't be a problem.

Freeze didn't catch her smile. But he didn't care about her. The one person he could bring himself to love in the world had been taken from him. Ivy's 'apology' ignited a new feeling in him. Something unstoppable, chaotic, but all the more important to Ivy, powerful. In a blind rage, Freeze screamed out for the deaths of Batman & Robin, shattering a table full of his work materials like glass. As Freeze buried his head in his hands, Ivy pushed him further. She agreed that the Dynamic Duo must die but added a suggestion to 'punish' the society that made them what they are. His rage at its peak Freeze murderously agreed with her. He proclaimed that the city will be covered in endless winter by his hand; he then reached over to a nearby table and produced the snowglobe that had come into Ivy's possession at the Flower Ball- that depicted Gotham City. First it would be Gotham- Freeze then turned to Ivy- and then the world!

A broad, evil smile broke across her lips. She exclaimed to Freeze that that was just what she had in mind. To kill all life on Earth leaving only the two of them, giving Ivy the chance to rebuild the world as she sees fit as the Mother Nature she saw herself as. Ivy extended her hand to the side to take a cylindrical glass case from the nearby Bane. Inside it was a savage, otherworldly, animal-like plant with hissing venom-laced jaws and a tongue like serpents- a hybrid that the former Pamela Isley could only dream of. Ivy took it from Bane and cuddled it like a mother with a newborn. She looked over at Freeze and carried on. She briefly explained her mutant plants role in her plan. Once Freeze had done his duty, her plantlife will overrun the globe and when they have done so, both Freeze and Poison Ivy would rule the world together. Freeze took in her words with interest and agreed with her. He had nothing left. Only hatred of mankind and Ivy's masterplan fuelled his dark desire for revenge and with her at his side he would have it and more.

Eager to begin Freeze, left Batman & Robin in Ivy's care while he prepared to freeze Gotham City. Ivy nodded in agreement and smiled to herself. With Freeze now persuaded to join with her, Ivy's plans for a flora-dominated world were nearing completion. The Day of Reckoning she had prophesized was coming, and it would start tonight!

The Telescope Unveiling

While Freeze readied his men and his supplies needed to conquer Gotham, Ivy made plans of her own to assist him in attaining their goal. Noting her past experiences with the Dynamic Duo Ivy saw that the youngest of the pair, Robin, had proven to be much more susceptible to her seductive ability, having come close to killing him on two occasions before. With Gotham's end nigh, Ivy saw a golden opportunity to finish off the Boy Wonder once and for all. Though with Batman's presence hanging over her like a black shadow, she wouldn't be able to even get close to Robin alone. It was then that Ivy saw an answer to her problem- if she couldn't get to Robin, why not have Robin come to her?

Donning the guise of Pamela Isley once more, Ivy made her way to Gotham Observatory. The place of her fateful encounter with Bruce Wayne and the place that would spark the beginning of the end. A gala ball officially opening the now-finished observatory to the public was taking place there at that moment and Ivy made her way to seek of the Gotham Police Commissioner, James Gordon, whom she had interacted with before- as Poison Ivy. She knew he had in his possession the keys to the famous Bat-Signal that called the respective pair into action and she needed it for her own devices. She soon found the Commissioner close-by and more importantly alone. Ivy made her move and approached him from behind.

She addressed him to get his attention and Gordon turned around to speak to her. Moving closer, she began to seduce him like the normal Ivy would. Slyly she asked him where the batlight was kept. Before the officer could answer, Ivy held out an ivy-leaf design powder case towards him and blew some of it into his face. It was filled with a potent mixture of her love dust and had a stunning effect on the man. He was stunned by Ivy despite her being in her Isley persona. Slowly he answered that it was on top of the police headquarters. Pleased her love dust had worked its magic once again; Ivy took the Commissioner and led him away from the crowd and into a private corner of the observatory. Playing off his emotions, she told him she would love to see it and feigned ignorance as to whether he had access. Rendered dumbstruck by her Commissioner Gordon fell for her bait and produced the keys to the signal from his front pocket telling her he had them in his possession. Eagerly he offered to show her it but unfortunately for him Ivy had other ideas. Slowly she flipped open her powder case and blew another cloud of love dust into the veteran officer's face, a fact he seemed to enjoy as he fell deeper in love with her; So much so he didn't notice Ivy pluck the keys from his hand. Innocently the man asked Ivy who she was. Ivy didn't answer but considered kissing him instead, going so far as to lean inward. She stopped short however and demeaned him as being 'way too old' for her. With that Ivy swiftly made her escape from the observatory, leaving the normally stoic and strong man crippled from her advances.

A while later, Ivy and Bane arrived at the rooftop of Gotham Police HQ where the Bat-signal lay in wait for them. With a simple command Bane ripped the light from its designated spot and removed it from the roof. Ivy eagerly let out a laugh at the chaotic clamor of sparks and creaking metal before settling on a dark, sinister smile. Bane extricated the Bat-signal from its resting place and took it home with them, back to the Turkish Bath-House lair for modification and relocation. At Ivy's will, it would shine its light on the Gotham skyline once more and in turn lure the Bird into her nest.

The Last Seduction of Poison Ivy

The time had come for the execution of her role in Freeze's dream of conquest and vengeance. As he prepared to leave, the man of ice took her bodyguard, Bane, along with him to the now-quiet observatory. While he eradicated Gotham City with his newest weapon, Ivy planned to bring a permanent end to the partnership of the Dynamic Duo, literally, and assure that no one would be able to stop her plans. Freeze wished for her to distract the Bat & Bird but Ivy had murder in mind. With the Bat-Signal secure outside her lush garden lair, Ivy removed the black bat from the light and put a red robin symbol in its place, especially for Robin. With that, the signal was lit and a red Robin-Signal pierced the cloud-stricken sky summoning the Boy Wonder to her midst. Pleased with the results, Ivy entered her lair and started to get ready. He wouldn't arrive quickly but she was certain that he would come. The sweet, insincere words of glory and passion she had spoken to him meant something to the boy. The signal would be a beacon of hope to him- and love- her love for him, that she had conveyed to him during their few moments together as enemies and a future together by her side as lovers, the partnership he longed for. It was pathetic, but it was what she had counted on, had crafted for him. Long, enduring seduction by evil and then the sudden, instant betrayal of death, like poison. Her preparations complete, Poison Ivy hid herself deep with the confines of her lair and awaited the coming of her hero.

As she expected, Robin arrived alone at her lair. She could feel his presence outside her lair through her plants that made up her home. The plants grew excited at his arrival and relayed it to their mistress within. Ivy was unsurprised but very pleased he heeded her call. She knew he would come, he wanted to be with her- needed her. In a sense, she wanted him too, his earlier escapes from her clutches infuriated her, taunted her. No longer would he be the bird that got away. Tonight would be the night of his death; She would kill him within the privacy of her own lair, alone and undisturbed and by the undiluted passion of her kiss. The thought of it excited Ivy a little too. The plants whispered to themselves as Robin entered the lair. They watched him survey the vibrant jungle-like surroundings as he cautiously moved deeper into the lair. The plants teased him as they drew him into her lair, pushing him closer to where their mistress lay in wait. The seductive mood of the plant lair was not unlike Ivy herself and it intrigued the Boy Wonder. The signal hadn't brought him there it was the thought of her. The need to be with her that drove him. He couldn't breathe without her, his desire was too strong. The villainess drove the hero to the brink of ecstasy and she enjoyed every second of it. Robin was getting closer to her; Ivy could feel him. Her moment of reveal was so close now. The vine curtains and undulating fan-leaves led him to a foyer ordained with a luminous green lilypond with gently raining pink petals that lazily drifted across the room. The giant fan-leaves opened up to reveal a great floral bud at the end of the pond. It was clearly the centerpiece of the garden and it sat at the end of the lilypond at the heart of her lair. He had arrived but she was nowhere to be seen. No sooner had Robin stopped to scan the room, than the bud began to open.

In an instant, the great bud bloomed and revealed a gorgeous spectacle of irresistible beauty reclining within, waiting for him. It was a woman. A woman so beautiful Robin was transfixed by the sheer sight of her. In recognition of her, the room filled with a light that shone down onto the exotic and beautiful flower like a ray of sunlight from the heavens. A final vine curtain fell behind him taking him by surprise. The plants giggled to themselves as he looked back as they sealed off any possible escape. Without another moment, he looked back at the woman with awe once more. She welcomed Robin into her lair with a charming smile and reclined seductively in her flowerbed for him. It was her... Poison Ivy.

With that, the trap closed. Robin had been lured into her private garden, with no Batman in sight, no distractions and no escape; just the two of them. The moment Ivy had been so desperately waiting for had come. The very thought of him, a hero, willingly answering her call, the call of an evil villainess. To enter her lair of his own free will under the false pretense of mutual forbidden love for one another; it was delicious. To think one of her most hated enemies would be prepared to throw away his own morals and passion for justice just to be with her, a devout follower of evil- the very fabric of life he strove to protect the city from. The irony was so laughably absurd and yet there he stood. His gullible faith he had in her was a sad fact indeed, but she had to admit herself: she immensely enjoyed her time with him, planting her seed of toxic rapture in him and watch it grow stronger every moment she crept into his mind. It could destroy a man from within, leaving a hollow shadow of his former self, but that's what made it so fun.

Everything in the garden was unrivalled in beauty but Ivy remained the most beautiful thing in it. She had seated herself in a sleek, seductive pose that showed off her tantalizing figure and sported a new costume she wore especially for him. Ivy wore another skintight latex catsuit, this time in deep, flourishing shades of red that blended with her radiant flowing red hair. The suit ran the length of her arms before cutting off to a thorn-like leaves round her wrist before her now bare hands where the red slowly burned to a malevolent black. The chest was ordained with a deep red ivy leaf design with a burnt black edge highlighting it. An emblem not unlike Batman's. She wore feather-like tassels on her forearms as a sultry accessory to complete it. She wore black leather pants with matching thigh-high boots on her lower body and hip-hugging belt like before. It retained the ivy emblem similar to the one she wore in Robin's last encounter with her; only it was red now- not yellow. Robin's eyes caught hers staring back at him. Her smile made him quiver. Her beautiful face was framed by her fierce red hair which curled into two flaming red cones reaching higher than before falling down by her shoulders. Ivy's emerald green eyes shone back at him with an exotic red-yellow floral mask design painted from her eyelids to her arching eyebrows. In Robin's eyes, she was beyond perfection and she knew it. His eyes lingered on her dominant eyes before he found her luscious, full red lips. They found him too; they glistened in the soft light, already beckoning him towards her. She vainly teased him with a sly raise of her eyebrows and gave him a playful smirk. She was toying with him and yet her playtime had only just begun.

Poison Ivy stared furtively at her dumbstruck hero, lavishing the stunning effect she had on him. She greeted him with a strong, feminine voice and turned her smile seductively sinister. Robin swallowed. Her charming, siren-like voice sang across the lilypond for him, reminding him it was not a dream. The villainess was lying sprawled out for him on her grand floral bed, awaiting him. Finally finding himself, he moved over towards the lilypond's edge. In a light attempt at levity, he asked whether Ivy's thumb was the only part of her that was green. Ivy's smile widened and she extended her arm and teasingly pointed at him. Flirting, she invited him to come and find out and attempted to lure him over to her. Unsurprisingly, he took the bait and began to precariously walk across the lilypads that floated over her pond. Robin began to speak to Ivy once more. He expressed a desire to be with her but was skeptical of her own allegiances. He asked whether she would end her villainous ways and reform as she had apparently implied she would do before. A product of the Dark Knight's warnings, no doubt. The boy reached her flower bed and seated himself next to Ivy in a space she made for him, leaving him looking up at her like a lowly dog. Ivy had no intention of "turning over a new leaf" as he put it. They were nothing but infantile fantasies that the bird brain had concocted. It didn’t matter, however, as his foolish request would be quickly forgotten and he would be hers once more. Robin asked for a sign.

She knew exactly what he meant but she decided to try and seduce him once more. Ivy looked hungrily into his eyes and tried to penetrate his heart. Slyly, she offered him "slippery when wet" and arched her slender arm around him. Her fingers found his spine and gently rubbed it before resting on him. Ivy's captivating talent for seduction was as powerful as always but she was more focused and unrelenting than normal; almost animal-like in tenacity. Ivy had her own personal goal this time round. She had Robin in her clutches and she wasn't going to let him escape her- not this time. She moved closer to him with her suggestion, not taking her enchanting gaze off him. Remarkably, Robin seemed to be unfazed by her tactics. Stoically, he corrected her. He asked her to tell him of her plans as a show of trust. Ivy was taken aback by this. Her composure didn't show it but Robin's newfound resistance to her was unnerving. Nevertheless she was confident in her own abilities. She moved in close to him and moved her hand further up his back. Ivy asked him to kiss her first and then she would tell him what he wanted to know. Her intoxicating ultimatum bore into Robin's mind and began to entice him once more. Her hypnotic, emerald-green eyes watched it happen as it slowly began to consume him. She leaned in expectantly for him. Robin however braved her seduction, but only just. He was losing himself to her once again and his already aching desire for her was much stronger than he had ever felt for a woman. He agreed to kiss her as she knew he would, but only if she told him her plans first. Ivy considered him for a moment and then revealed to Robin her partner Mr. Freeze's plans- it was irrelevant as far she was concerned. He wouldn't live to make any use of the knowledge.

Within a moment Ivy's revelation had finished and raised herself over to Robin. Her part of the deal was complete. It was now time for him to fulfill his role. Everything had been leading up to this moment. Her introduction at the Gala Ball, the encounters at the factory. Everything she devised tonight led to this. Her personal revenge would be complete, and it would be bittersweet. To kiss the most beautiful woman in the world. It was a small price to pay in her book. And Ivy was the most beautiful woman in the world. No man could resist her, least of all him. Robin tried his best to escape her. He turned to leave under the pretense of stopping Freeze. Clearly the Bat had warned him. Ivy was sure now. The Boy Wonder didn't want to give into her. He couldn't dare. He wasn’t aware of what she was capable of doing if he let her take control. But he knew she was a dangerous foe to be close to. It was a wise gambit but it was far too late for Robin. Ivy knew his desire for her was reaching it's peak. He couldn't escape her anymore. Robin was hers. His will was breaking; all it needed was a little push. She grabbed Robin by the shoulder and pulled him back in to her. She was close now, deathly close. Robin turned to look at Ivy to find her draping over him like vines on a treestump. Pulling him close, Ivy lustfully asked him for just "one kiss". Her dark eyelids shrouded her evergreen eyes as they burned into him like the exotic flames of her eyemask. She drew her slender fingers over his face and tenderly stroked his chin with her fingertips and vibrant red and orange nails, caressing him lovingly close to his lips. She addressed the trapped Robin as "my love" and lifted her gaze from his lips to his innocent, naive blue eyes staring back, thoroughly entranced by her. She grasped him firmly by the shoulder and letting the words sink in, letting Robin find her lips before finishing her tempting plea. Ivy's irresistible red lips beckoned. They were highlighted by a venomous magenta painted around their edge, harkening a warning vibe of hidden toxicity but all the while tempting him with an erotic allure. With a soft whisper she asked Robin to share a kiss with her "for luck", a token of loving affection to aid him in the coming battle. Ivy curled her lips into a deep, seductive smile.

Robin couldn’t resist her- not anymore. His guard had been shattered by her and he was now rendered helpless to her charms. Ivy could feel his surrender as his young heart raced and his breath became shallower. It took some intimate persuasion but Robin was now at her mercy once more. Without another word she moved her perfect face over to Robin's and looked him lovingly in the eyes one last time. She re-adjusted her grip on his shoulder and then moved an open palm over his face. As Ivy placed her slender hand on his cheek, the hero tilted his head as though on command. Ivy exhaled her sweet breath onto him and tilted her head in turn and then languidly moved inward. She drifted angelically from her perched height and moved her full, tender lips over to his. As Robin pursed his, Ivy couldn't help but curl an evil smile- she was really going to enjoy this. When men were kissed by Poison Ivy it was different for everyone, but it was always passionate. Such was the nature of her poison. Their brief moment with her was bittersweet, the immense pain of death was always torturously cruel and yet the flavorful sweetness of her kiss was something men would be willing to die for. An ironic twist of fate that Ivy herself knew of but cherished the rewards of her sensual efforts. This is what she planned for the clueless hero in her vice-like grasp. Her malice for him was great but her revenge was in her kiss and it tasted so very sweet. Her tantalizing seduction, the theft of the Bat-Signal, luring him into her garden lair; everything up to the moment was worth it! After all, while Freeze was readily bringing about the end of the human world surely Ivy wouldn't be begrudged of giving her "favorite" hero a proper goodbye? Happily, the villainess planted her succulent red-magenta lips to his and closed her eyes.

With the lone hero locked in her rapturous, cruel embrace at last, Poison Ivy eagerly treated Robin with the most tender, passionate kiss of her luscious, red-magenta lips could provide; thanking him for the good memories of his seduction, murderous near-misses and the eternal naïveté of his devotion to her. Her soft, flavorful lips penetrated the young hero's remaining strength of will and bound him to her, sinking him deep into a false sense of security while their mistress prepared her poison for him. As they sank deeper into the kiss she secreted her stockpile of venom from her lips. Ivy encouraged him to drink in her kiss and the lethal toxin they carried, with all the gentle allure but also the hidden, vicious ferocity of a Venus Fly-Trap. The poison left her lips and vanished with the throes of Ivy's intimate act. The villainess' tainted heart smiled with satisfaction and the Vixen of Venom now kissed her falling hero goodbye, savoring their last moment together. Ivy had indulged Robin with an act of true love and affection ...and fatal deception. His death was imminent and he would soon perish. Not by a bullet, not by ice, but by a tender kiss. It was the perfect murder and Ivy's lust-filled revenge was complete. The immense passion contorted on Ivy's face slowly began to vanish and faded to an expression of mock-sympathy. She pulled away after a moment and peeled her full lips from Robin's. She lingered for a moment, leaving him reeling from the passion of kiss. It was over. Ivy opened her eyes and looked at Robin with "sadness" but the thinly-veiled masquerade was failing. She could barely contain her glee. Ivy gloated at Robin, her remorse riddled with sarcasm leaving him with 'bad luck' instead. She playfully brushed his nose with her own and stroked his chin lightly as she told him, Time to die, little Robin...! Ivy moved away from him and her expression turned evil and her lips contorted into a traitorous smirk.

Something seemed wrong. The venom she administered had a delayed effect so she could watch him suffer a crippling and painful death but Robin appeared to be fine regardless. He merely looked at her, a serious stare painted on his dopey, ape-like face. The affection for her seemed to have evaporated too. Robin spoke to Ivy, with a hint of sarcasm of his own in place of the dumbstruck words of adoration she was so used to. He told her "I hate to disappoint you." But. Robin's gloved hand came into focus and reached for his lips. Ivy watched, emotionless. He pulled a clear film from his lips and tore it off. Ivy's heart leapt and her face froze. She knew what it was before Robin said anything. The hero had been wearing rubber lips. Robin wouldn't die, because he was never poisoned. He was immune to her poisonous kiss and she had exposed herself to him of her true intent.

Ivy stared dumbstruck at the film in his hand. A mixture of emotions were rushing through her head. The bird had tricked her. Her vanity and self-confidence hadn't prepared for this and now she was stuck in a corner. But above all else she was feeling angry- furious. It was all so perfect and it was rapidly crashing down. It overtook her and Ivy acted on it with a further thought. Before Robin could do anything Ivy pushed from her bed. He was caught offguard, having been precariously balanced on the flower's edge during their flirtations and he tumbled backwards into the lilypond. The underwater plantlife beset him, reacting on their mistress' anger and quickly bound with their vines, dragging him underwater in an attempt to drown him. Acting quickly Ivy shed the tassels on her wrists and removed herself from her floral throne, climbing out to the edge of the pond. Brimming with anger at being humiliated and denied Robin once again Ivy scornfully bade him adieu and left him to her plants, making for the exit to regroup with Freeze and Bane.

Ivy marched towards the exit, shrugging her anger and returning her thoughts to the plan in motion, not noticing that Robin hadn't come alone.

Powers and abilities

It is unclear whether she could control plants, because in the scene before she is beaten by Batgirl, she exclaimed "My vines have a crush on you!", pointed to Batman and then her vines wrapped him up and tried to suffocate him. So it is unclear whether she could control plants or her vines are just bred to be able to attack at a whim. Her subsequent defeat also throws doubt in whether she could control plants, as Batgirl physically kicks her back onto her 'flower bed' and is non-fatally crushed by the bed's petals. It is completely ambiguous as whether this was a defense mechanism, perhaps a further deadlier trap for the seduced Robin or the Animal-Plant hybrids attempting to overthrow their mistress. She could also blow plant pheromones into the face of her victims in order to seduce them into following her orders and make them vulnerable to her advances and poisonous kiss. This, along with her natural beauty, made her a very dangerous seductress. Very few could resist her charms. Not even Batman and Robin were immune to her affections.

Her full luscious lips held a hidden poison in them which permeated the cells in her victim’s lips. Ivy would indulge the victim with a tender kiss, causing them in turn to unwittingly swallow a potent dose of her toxin as they secreted from her lips and onto theirs. The poison would work instantaneously when it reached their vital organs, crippling their body from within. Her signature "poison kiss" was always fatal in its execution. To that extent it was her genuinely preferred method of killing, having left a string of murders in her wake and made numerous attempts to seduce Batman & Robin and entice them into a kiss. The different victims of the kiss suffered slowly or succumbed to it quickly, it would depend on the person or the potency Ivy administered. Despite this, many were more than willing to suffer this passionate poison.
