Colonel Richard "Rick" Flag was a Special Forces Solider for the US Army under the command of A.R.G.U.S. director Amanda Waller. The appointed leader of its "Suicide Squad", he would lead the team on several missions. Flag was involved in several conflicts, including tracking the Enchantress in Midway City and the destruction of Jotunheim.

Behind the Scenes
Actor Tom Hardy was originally cast in the role, but dropped out claiming he had "scheduling conflicts." Given Hardy's star power as a leading man and price tag, it's likely he had second thoughts about being part of an ensemble cast or salary issues.
