The Second Bank of Gotham Heist was an event that occurred on the anniversary of Batman capturing Two-Face.
Events surrounding[]
After Two-Face escaped from Arkham Asylum, he and a group of his thugs broke into the top lobby of the Second Bank of Gotham, where they killed two security guards and held the third one, Hawkins, hostage as part of Two-Face's plan to trap and kill Batman.
The heist[]
The trap[]
On the day of the anniversary of Two-Face's capture, Batman arrived at the bank in the Batmobile, where he first meets Chase Meridian. After a conversation with Chase, Batman heads to the bank's top lobby in an elevator, where he subdues Two-Face's goons while the villain made his escape during the fight. Pursuing Two-Face, Batman finds Hawkins bound and gagged in the bank's vault, and after removing his gag, Hawkins yells that it's a trap, just before Two-Face slammed the vault's door, trapping Batman and Hawkins inside it.
The rescue[]
Using his helicopter's pulley chain, Two-Face pulls the vault out of the hole one of his goons made with a wrecking ball earlier. As he hovered over Gotham, Two-Face uses his helicopter's radio and loudspeaker to announce his robbery to the citizens below and inform Batman that he's dead by activating the spigots of acid he rigged into the vault in an attempt to kill him and Hawkins. Grabbing Hawkins' hearing aid, Batman uses it to open the vault's door and both he and Hawkins escape, much to Two-Face's rage.
Standing on the door of the vault, Batman fires a grappling hook into the wall of the bank, and after attaching the other end of the grappling line to the chain, he uses his Acetylene Torch to cut through one part of the chain, swinging both the vault and Hawkins back into the bank, just as James Gordon and the Gotham City Police Department arrived on the top floor with Chase to help him down from the top of the vault and apprehend Two-Face's goons.
Helicopter flight[]
Hanging onto the chain, Batman attempts to climb up it, but Two-Face forces his pilot to fly the helicopter through the Ocu-Wash neon sign in an attempt to kill The Dark Knight. As the helicopter flew out of the wrecked sign, Two-Face looks through the hatch to find Batman gone, and joyfully suspects that he's dead at last. Just then, Batman's cape spreads across the copter's windshield, and the pilot yells to his boss, who furiously shoots at the windshield, but Batman jumps away while Two-Face accidentally kills his pilot in the process.
Seizing the steering wheel, Two-Face steers the helicopter towards the Lady Gotham statue on a collision course. At that moment, Batman punches through the windshield, knocking Two-Face aside. After headbutting the remaining glass, Batman tells Two-Face that he needs help, and orders him to give up, but the villain kicks Batman out of the copter, and locks a steering wheel club onto the steering wheel, keeping it on course toward the statue.
Aftermath[]
As Batman leapt back into the helicopter's cockpit, Two-Face drops through the hatch and escapes using a parachute. Seeing the approaching statue, Batman jumped out of the cockpit and landed in the sea below, just as the helicopter crashes into the statue's face, damaging its left side. Resurfacing to the surface of the water, Batman sees the statue's damaged face from the sea.
