Starro is an enemy of the Justice League and occasionally Batman who has since been a recurring entity in Batman related media, most notably as a villain to Batman Beyond.

History

Origins

Starro is a starfish-like alien being known as a Star Conquerer who comes from a home-world identified as Star Planet. It attempted to conquer Earth only for the Justice League to assemble in-order to defeat the conquerer.

DC Rebirth

Starro came to be convinced by the Martian Manhunter to aid the Justice League in saving the universe from the villainous, "Omega Titans". In doing so, Starro willingly sacrificed itself to save the universe.

Following this, a genetic sample of Starro began growing into its cloned offspring via bio-fission. This sample was obtained by Batman and kept in a jar with the nickname of, "Jarro" (The Starro in a Jar). Jarro would become an ally under Batman's adoption and living testament to Starro's sacrifice.
