History[]
Silvermith has been obsessed with silver since childhood and, now, as a silver-haired older man, has amassed a fortune in stolen goods that he smuggled through his antiques business.
Bullets bounce off Silversmith thanks to a silver alloy woven into the fabric of his white suit. Batman has fought him twice, and once prevented Silversmith from murdering the Crime Doctor. Sterling Silversmith appeared in Salvation Run #2 where he questioned Lex Luthor, becoming the leader of the villains trapped on planet Cynus 4019 just by virtue of showing up.
New 52[]
The New 52 version is depicted as the shop teacher of Gotham Academy. He is obsessed with silver and hates children.
