Steve Ditko was an American artist and writer, best known for creating Spider-Man at Marvel. After leaving Marvel Ditko created the Question and Blue Beetle for Charlton, which was later purchased by DC. Ditko's most notable contribution to the Batman mythos is the Jack Ryder character and plotting and penciling the first Man-Bat solo series, creating an early precursor to Ultrasonic Bat Beacon.
