Summer Gleeson was a news reporter and anchor working in Gotham City. She is an adaptation of the DCAU character of the same name, who first appeared in the Batman: The Animated Series episode "Heart of Ice". Versions of Summer have appeared throughout the DC universe over the years.

History[]

Gotham anchorwoman Summer Gleeson was first mentioned in an article in Batman: No Man's Land Secret Files #1. Apparently, the determined reporter was among the few media workers who remained in the city after the chaos that ensued as a result of Gotham being declared a "No Man's Land'" by the U.S. government.

Gleeson remained a recurring television journalist for several years, eventually resurfacing to cover a millionaire's unveiling of a statue of Batman as thanks to the Dark Knight for saving his life in the past. The plan was targeted by Professor Hugo Strange, who vowed to demolish the statue to exact his revenge on Batman. Strange took Gleeson hostage but was defeated by Batman, who rescued Gleeson, although not in time to save the statue, which was destroyed.
