Superman is the alias of Kal-El, son of Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van of the planet Krypton. Sent to Earth before the destruction of Krypton, Kal-El was later found and adopted by Jonathan and Martha Kent, which they gave him the name of Clark Joseph Kent. After beating the Kryptonian tyrant Zod and saving the city of Metropolis, he became a reporter for the Daily Planet.

The Flash[]
Superman was unable to help Batman during the Collapse of Gotham General due to trying to stop a volcano eruption in Guatemala. Later, when Flash discovers the Chronobowl, he sees memories throughout his past, specifically in Justice League, when Superman was revived and forgot about his teammates.

For filming of Justice League, Cavill had a moustache that he was unable to shave due to shooting Mission: Impossible - Fallout, which in post-production, his mouth was created by computer-generated-imagery.
