"Chapter 6: Judgement Day"[]
Synopsis[]
In the weeks before the election, Edward books a train ticket for Ana and her child to leave Gotham. He leaves it for her at her doorstep and directs her to their forum. Despite her reluctance, Edward convinces her to leave the city but asks that she helps him prove how they killed her father. The following day, he visits Arkham Asylum as part of a guided tour, during which he thinks of his mother and her death. As he is shown around, Edward decides to use it as his hideout when Gotham is flooded.
On October 24th, Edward spies on Mitchell, Savage and Colson to finalize his plans to attack them. He also observes Falcone's thugs distributing drops, leading to several serious crimes including the murder of a family. Edward fantasies about Batman stopping these and discovering clues about his plans. He wonders whether the vigilante will side with him or if they'd actually have a friendship.
On October 30th, Edward has a package delivered to Ana, giving her instructions to feed a drugged slab of meat to an animal in the back of New Beginnings Animal Rescue and leave its door unlocked. With Higgins gone to perform an errand for "Oz" Cobblepot, Ana investigations and discovers the monster inside, prompting her to flee after ensuring the door is left unlocked. Edward then visits the room and cuts the chain holding the creature. The following morning, Ana leaves Gotham with her son to begin a new life in Metropolis.
On October 31st, Edward struggles to contain his excitement as his plans begin to come together. He sends Zach a message pretending to be a potential date, inviting him to the election party. Meanwhile, Higgins arrives at New Beginnings to find water coming out of the back. As he investigates calling for Ana, he finds a message from Edward revealing he'd discovered what they did with Joon's body. He is soon attacked by the released animal: a large alligator who devours him alive.
At KTMJ hours later, Stone receives a call from one of his men informing him of Higgins' death and the cops' investigation. As he begins planning to deal with it, Stone discovers that someone has hacked into his account and left a number of files indicating his involvement with the Syndicate and Renewal. Edward then messages him and send him an audio recording of Joon's murder, offering to send it to his family or Falcone. As Nashton and KTMJ's employees leave the building to celebrate Halloween, Stone quietly commits suicide, leaving a message to his family. Meanwhile, Edward begins suiting up as the Riddler so that he can begin his game with Batman...
