Greetings all! I am J Fan, but many know me as CJSFan. While I've been to many Wikis, I am mainly known at POTC Wiki.

I officially joined Wikia as "CJSFan" on April 4, 2010 and have had fun ever since! My main domain Wiki-wise is POTC Wiki(yea, I'm a huge Pirates nerd lol), while I briefly contribute to other Wikis, like add images, make any suggestions, etc. I've been a Wiki user since 2010, and have been making as many great contributions at Wiki ever since...particularly of course: POTC Wiki!

On March 2012, I decided to change my username to "J Fan" as I had a revelation of being both a POTC and Batman nerd...and loving the two big characters that start with "J"(Jack Sparrow for POTC, Joker for Batman lol). I have made a few contributions to DC-related wikis(DC Animated and here at Batman Wiki), so I think that'll help me very much. And to answer this question "what are we going to call you now?": you can call me whichever of these names you like(J Fan is now my official Wiki name; but as I said LOTS of people know me as "CJSFan").

I am a fan of Batman, probably the BEST hero of all comics "popular-wise", but sad to say I've never read any of the comics...but if I could, I would love to read some. The ones I would love to read, if I can get my hands on them, Daughter of the Demon, Mad Love and Joker's Millions(since the BTAS adaptions were great). I'm also thinking of getting The Dark Knight and The Killing Joke, as I've read or heard from some people that each were some of the greatest of the Batman comics.
Although Christian Bale's Batman is the best live-action Batman so far, voice actor Kevin Conroy will always be Batman to me...especially in his relation to Mark Hamill's Joker(who is, to me, the ONLY Joker who surpasses Heath Ledger's Joker). The same can be said about the movies themselves. Nolan's films are, without a doubt, the best Batman movies so far. However...with my weird taste in "old-school" stuff rather than the BIG new stuff kicking in, I like some other Batman material(particularly cartoons like, Batman: The Animated Series) a bit more. Having said all that(which semi-continues below)...I can now get over Nolan's universe below.
Unfortunately, I was not able to see Batman Begins in theaters(for financial reasons, I suppose)...but I was able to get introduced to Nolan's Batman universe from the film's video game, which I think I played as much as the recent Arkham games. It was fun watching how the universe worked, from how Batman did his thing to driving the Tumbler(which is probably my favorite version of the Batmobile). After watching the movie later on DVD, it was better than I had hoped. This had of course led me to watch The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, which have truly lived up to the hype. I could go on, but it'd be a bit much and repetitive compared to what some say. If I were to be asked after giving much thought, I suppose I'd say this: while I truly think TDKR was the best of Nolan's trilogy(it screams EPIC!) and that TDK was the most exciting(partial thanks to Heath Ledger's Joker), I have to say Batman Begins is my favorite.

As many fans know, there is a Man of Steel sequel in the works, reputed to star the Dark Knight himself. Separated from the Nolan trilogy, released from 2005-2012, there will also be a new Batman donning the cape and utility belt... and that man is Ben Affleck. Of course I'm not immune to hating on casting decisions (honestly, can't see Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman), but I have faith that Affleck will give us a great Batman. We'll see when the film is released, a trailer at the earliest.
Another thing I wish to note: Frank Miller's acclaimed graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns is said to be involved somehow in the film...and one particular dialogue was used in the film's announcement at Comic-Con 2013. For that reason, I thought I would attempt to get that along with other comics I had in mind of reading. So I was able to get these comics last Christmas:
I don't know about a diehard Bat fan, but I think it's great! So far, I've only read through half of Knightfall, up until Bane breaks the Bat, who is replaced by Jean-Paul Valley. The stories keep getting better and better for me. Oh, and though it may very well seem redundant to buy the comic, I also got the animated adaption of The Dark Knight Returns. I was going to watch it after reading the comic, but my plan was overruled by those closest to me. The film was great, and I look forward into seeing how it was on paper.
Along with the Man of Steel sequel, my highest anticipation is Batman: Arkham Knight, the latest (and possibly final) of the Arkham series. It certainly feels like the Batman game to get, because...
  1. Rocksteady is making the game - I was ok with Arkham Origins, and I congratulate WB Montreal in making a good Batman game that was was almost the best gameplay-wise. However, one can't deny that the game didn't have the spark that spark Rocksteady has given us in the first two games.
  2. Gotham City - We were given Gotham in Arkham Origins, yes, but this time the stakes are higher as there are likely more villains in Knight than in Origins. Not to mention that the map is five times the size of Arkham City - much bigger than it was in Origins, which was big enough in my opinion.
  3. The Batmobile - 'Nuff said. The only other good Batmobile gameplay (at least that I've played so far) was for the Batman Begins video game, but that game isn't an open-world game like the Arkham series. So yeah, driving the Batmobile will be a rollicking good time.
Despite this being a Joker-less Batman game, I look forward to seeing what Rocksteady has to offer with their latest project and potentially hit, Batman: Arkham Knight, the "explosive finale to the Arkham series".

This whole thing is all just my opinion, of course.
You can either agree in some parts or not. As the Joker from Arkham City would say: I don't care! he he he he

And if it's not too obvious already, I am a HUGE fan of the Joker! Don't get me wrong, Batman has a LOT of cool villains, but Joker's more of my taste of Batman villainy...mostly because I'm more attached to comedic and trickster type figures, which Joker kinda is. And while we're on the subject, I suppose I should get to a point in discussion that I kinda implied above, though focused on my views of Joker portrayals. Though I'm pretty sure I'll get rants about this from die-hard Nolan fanboys...

While I agree with many that Heath Ledger's version of Joker was brilliant(one of many things that made Nolan's films interesting to watch)...he is only second to my personal favorite Joker: Mark Hamill!
Yea Heath did do a great performance, but that doesn't mean he's the greatest Joker who ever lived. Don't get me wrong, I do like Heath's(what Batman fan doesn't?)...but I personally like Hamill's more for many reasons(who did a brilliant job from day one as the DCAU Joker and later did the Arkham games Joker). All of this is from a guy who, in some cases, prefers "old-school" stuff...though in this case, it's because Hamill's Joker has been there my whole life, literally. Plus...the laugh!

Sorry for the rant, but it gets rather annoying having to see those who make such a big deal of something this small...especially with how well each Joker did for the Batman franchise: Heath, Hamill, John Di Maggio, Jack Nicholson, and of course Cesar Romero from the Adam West Batman show.

"It's that time again! Thanks for tuning in. Get ready for another round of newbies. I'm your host, the Joker. Let's get to know our legendary contestants. So you knocked him dead, eh? Put that big, brainy, bottle boy on his big behind, did ya? Etc., etc., blah blah blah. Well, congratulations! We're all so proud. Aren't we ladies and gentlemen?... I said aren't we ladies and gentlemen?! Harley. Harley! (throws knife that sticks next to Harley as she turns on applause sign) You see. But enough about past exploits. Here today, gone tomorrow, right? Ha-ha-ha That's what they say, right? (laughing) Take the old stomping grounds, for example. Gotham City and Metropolis. I mean, look at all the little hidey-holes you've managed to carve out for yourselves. Oh, so industrious! You must feel all safe and cozy in there. Comfortable are we? Well, not for long. Because it's time to shake things up a bit. You've all become too complacent, too predictable. And that makes you boring. And if there's one thing I can't stand, it's a bored audience. So get ready, kids. Because it's going to be a very, very exciting ride! I mean, these are just the opening jokes, folks. We haven't even gotten to the punchline yet, and when we do...it's going to be a doozy."

"Let me tell you a story. A bat saves a scorpion from drowning in a river. But as the bat carries him our of the churning, deadly water, the scorpion stings the bat! In terrible agony the bat asks, 'Why?! I tried to save you! Now we'll both die!' And the scorpion says, 'Thats the point, sucka!' Hahahaha! Ohhhh I love that story. Cracks me up every time."
