Vernon Fields (sometimes Adrian Wells or Vernon Wells) was Harvey Dent's assistant during his time as District Attorney. Secretly, he was on the payroll of Sal Maroni and would later contribute to Dent's transformation into Two-Face. In all accounts of that feature him, Vernon was one of Two-Face's first victims.

- In "The Eye of the Beholder", Vernon was introduced as "Adrian Wells". However, he was renamed in Batman: The Long Halloween, with some speculating they were two different characters. However, Two-Face: Year One would later retcon them into the same character, renaming him "Vernon Wells".
