Victor Zsasz was a homicidal killer who lived in Gotham City.

History

Zsasz in his cell at Arkham.

Assistant District Attorney, Rachel Dawes states that Zsasz butchers citizens for the mob and is one of Carmine Falcone's thugs. Dr. Jonathan Crane testified in court that Victor Zsasz, one of Falcone's assassins, was legally insane and should be moved to Arkham Asylum for rehabilitation.

Zsasz would later be released from Arkham; during Ra's al Ghul and Scarecrow's reign of terror, he almost attacked Rachel but was stopped by Batman and is revealed he remained still at large on one of the promotional websites for The Dark Knight.

Trivia

  • The version of Zsasz in the film is the only one to have a goatee and brown hair, as in the comics he has blonde hair and no goatee.
  • If you look closely when Zsasz turns his head after being released from his cell, he has the trademark tally scars on his neck.
  • In the film, Zsasz has no dialogue, and appears to be quite sane, while in the film's tie in video game, he has several lines which indicate that he is in fact insane. In the game he is also voiced by Tim Booth.
  • In the film Zsasz is referred to only as Mr. Zsasz by Scarecrow rather then his full name.
