Walter Hamada is a WarnerMedia executive and the current president of DC Films, overseeing development of all superhero movies until 2023.[1]
History with DC Films
After the commercial and critical failure of the Zack Snyder era, Warner Brothers restructured their approach at both the executive and creative levels. The first film developed under Hamada was the Aquaman movie which became the highest grossing DC movie of all time with inflation. The Joaquin Phoenix Joker movie was also hugely successful. The Margot Robbie Harley Quinn was also continued in Birds of Prey and The Suicide Squad, a sequel and soft-reboot of the team. Hamada also served as the executive producer to The Batman.
Hamada also served as a producer for The Flash, which was intended to set up the next era for the DC Extended Universe. According to reports, it was also his plan for Michael Keaton to become the main version of Batman and his version to be incorporated into the "DC Extend Universe". One of the first projects to feature this was Batgirl, though this was cancelled after Warner Bros. was merged with Discovery. Hamada later resigned after the release of Black Adam, which was intended to start his vision for DC Films moving forward and was to set up future projects. However, its reported he will stay on until the release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
