Zachary Edward Snyder is an American filmmaker. He directed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Justice League (2017) and it's directors cut Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021).
After the tragic death of his daughter Autumn in March 2017, he abandoned the production of Justice League. WB turned to Avengers director Joss Whedon to finish the post-production process. Whedon ended up being tasked writing new scenes for re-shoots to significantly shorten its runtime and lighten the tone. Other changes included color correction, and replacing composer Junkie XL with Danny Elfman. Due to fan demand, a 4 hour cut premiered on HBO Max and later released on home video.
